Why I don’t Celebrate Father’s Day
Sun-day June 15th, 2025
Greetings in the name of Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha HaMashiach! I pray this quick post finds you all starting your week off in the grace and peace that only comes from a true relationship with Father Yahuah.
Today, most of our friends, family and maybe even you are celebrating Father’s day. I have no problem with celebrating how many fathers guard the responsibilities Father Yahuah has given them. Not having children of my own, I respect and honour all of the fathers out there and I tell my brothers, friends and relatives that are fathers how much I admire them for what they do and the love, protection and especially the guidance they give their families in regard to leading them in the way Father Yahuah has commanded them to live. I see no problem with telling men this.
If you feel the same way that I do, then I guess you’re asking why I don’t celebrate this day. I do not celebrate this day because I feel that this is something that you shouldn’t celebrate on just one day, especially one that was began in the early 1500’s AD to celebrate the father of Jesus, Joseph and has many centuries of traditions that we know nothing of.
Jump forward to 1910 in Seattle Washington, US, where a woman started the holiday at a local YMCA to celebrate her father and as a complimentary holiday to mothers day. This may all seem well and good on the surface, but like I stated earlier, why does there need to be one specific day to do this? Shouldn’t we do this whenever it is appropriate to let a man or woman know that they are doing a good job at parenting? Why do we need a special day to do this? We don’t, but they want us to believe that we do. Not only for the revenue this holiday brings in but it is to directly deceive us to worship their deities and to have us unknowingly violate the second commandment which is to have no other elohiym before Yahuah.
What was that? How can I be worshipping another elohiym by celebrating this day? Plain and simple… Provide book, chapter and verse where Yahuah commands you to celebrate this “holiday”. Can’t do it? Okay, tell me how celebrating this day honours and gives respect to Yahuah? Still having a hard time. Well answer this: What is the significance of celebrating this day on the third sun-day of June? What is the very significant day of the sun that happens around the third week in June? Who do almost all of the mystery religions worship as their father? If you answer these questions truthfully, what do the answers tell you.
This short blog is not meant to offend anyone or to condemn someone for what they do or practice. The whole purpose is to make you at least ask yourself some serious questions about the traditions and customs that you practice and to hopefully get you to ask Father Yahuah to give you knowledge and to reveal the truth of these matters to you.
I pray that you all have a blessed week and continue to seek Yahuah’s Salvation each and every day!
Shalom,
Patrick
