Shemoth (Exodus) 1:1 – 6:1
Shemoth (Exodus) 1
- Now these are the names of the sons of Yashar’el, which came into Mitsrayim; every man and his household came with Ya’aqov.
- Re’uven, Shim’on, Leviy, and Yahudah,
- Yisshakar, Zevulun, and Binyamiyn,
- Dan, and Naphtaliy, Gad, and Asher.
- And all the souls that came out of the loins of Ya’aqov were seventy souls: for Yoceph was in Mitsrayim already.
- And Yoceph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
- And the children of Yashar’el were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
- Now there arose up a new king over Mitsrayim, which knew not Yoceph.
- And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Yashar’el are more and mightier than we:
- Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
- Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
- But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Yashar’el.
- And the Mitsriym made the children of Yashar’el to serve with rigour:
- And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: את all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.
- And the king of Mitsrayim spake to the Ivriy midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:
- And he said, When ye do the office of a midwoman to the Ivriy women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
- But the midwives feared Elohiym, and did not as the king of Mitsrayim commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
- And the king of Mitsrayim called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
- And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Ivriy women are not as the Mitsriyth women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
- Therefore Elohiym dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
- And it came to pass, because the midwives feared Elohiym, that he made them houses.
- And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
Shemoth (Exodus) 2
- And there went a man of the house of Leviy, and took to be his woman a daughter of Leviy.
- And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
- And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.
- And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
- And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to fetch it.
- And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Ivriym’ children.
- Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Ivriyth women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
- And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.
- And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
- And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Mosheh: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
- And it came to pass in those days, when Mosheh was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Mitsriy smiting an Ivriy, one of his brethren.
- And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Mitsriy, and hid him in the sand.
- And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Ivriym strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
- And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Mitsriyth? And Mosheh feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
- Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Mosheh. But Mosheh fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
- Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.
- And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Mosheh stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
- And when they came to Re’u’el their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
- And they said, An Mitsriy delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.
- And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.
- And Mosheh was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Mosheh Tsipporah his daughter.
- And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
- And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Mitsrayim died: and the children of Yashar’el sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto Elohiym by reason of the bondage.
- And Elohiym heard their groaning, and Elohiym remembered his covenant with Avraham, with Yitschaq, and with Ya’aqov.
- And Elohiym looked upon the children of Yashar’el, and Elohiym had respect unto them.
Shemoth (Exodus) 3
- Now Mosheh kept the flock of Yithro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of Elohiym, even to Chorev.
- And the angel of Yahuah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
- And Mosheh said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
- And when Yahuah saw that he turned aside to see, Elohiym called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Mosheh, Mosheh. And he said, Here am I.
- And He said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is set-apart ground.
- Moreover He said, I am the Elohai of thy father, the Elohiai of Avraham, the Elohiai of Yitschaq, and the Elohiai of Ya’aqov. And Mosheh hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon Elohiym.
- And Yahuah said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Mitsrayim, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
- And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Mitsriym, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
- Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Yashar’el is come unto Me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Mitsriym oppress them.
- Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth My people the children of Yashar’el out of Mitsrayim.
- And Mosheh said unto Elohiym, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Yashar’el out of Mitsrayim?
- And He said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Mitsrayim, ye shall serve Elohiym upon this mountain.
- And Mosheh said unto Elohiym, Behold, when I come unto the children of Yashar’el, and shall say unto them, The Elohai of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them?
- And Elohiym said unto El-Mosheh, Ehayah Asher Ehayah (I Am That I Am): and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Yashar’el, Ehayah (I Am) hath sent me unto you.
- And Elohiym said moreover unto El-Mosheh, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Yashar’el, Yahuah Elohai of your fathers, the Elohai of Avraham, the Elohai of Yitschaq, and the Elohai of Ya’aqov, hath sent me unto you: this is My name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.
- Go, and gather the elders of Yashar’el together, and say unto them, Yahuah Elohai of your fathers, the Elohai of Avraham, of Yitschaq, and of Ya’aqov, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Mitsrayim:
- And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Mitsrayim unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
- And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Yashar’el, unto the king of Mitsrayim, and ye shall say unto him, Yahuah Elohai of the Ivriym hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahuah our Elohaynu.
- And I am sure that the king of Mitsrayim will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
- And I will stretch out My hand, and smite Mitsrayim with all My wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
- And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Mitsriym: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.
- But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Mitsriym.
Shemoth (Exodus) 4
- And Mosheh answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, Yahuah hath not appeared unto thee.
- And Yahuah said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
- And He said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Mosheh fled from before it.
- And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
- That they may believe that Yahuah Elohai of their fathers, the Elohai of Avraham, the Elohai of Yitschaq, and the Elohai of Ya’aqov, hath appeared unto thee.
- And Yahuah said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.
- And He said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
- And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
- And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
- And Mosheh said unto El-Yahuah, O my Adonai, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since Thou hast spoken unto Thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
- And Yahuah said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I Yahuah?
- Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
- And he said, O Adoani, send, I pray Thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
- And the anger of Yahuah was kindled against Mosheh, and He said, Is not Aharon the Leviyiy thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
- And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you את what ye shall do.
- And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of Elohiym.
- And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
- And Mosheh went and returned to Yithro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Mitsrayim, and see whether they be yet alive. And Yithro said to Mosheh, Go in peace.
- And Yahuah said unto Mosheh in Midian, Go, return into Mitsrayim: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
- And Mosheh took his woman and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Mitsrayim: and Mosheh took the rod of Elohiym in his hand.
- And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, When thou goest to return into Mitsrayim, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
- And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Yahuah, Yashar’el is my son, even my firstborn:
- And I say unto thee, Let My son go, that he may serve Me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.
- And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that Yahuah met him, and sought to kill him.
- Then Tsipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
- So He let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
- And Yahuah said to Aharon, Go into the wilderness to meet Mosheh. And he went, and met him in the mount of Elohiym, and kissed him.
- And Mosheh told Aharon את all the words of Yahuah who had sent him, and all the signs which He had commanded him.
- And Mosheh and Aharon went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Yashar’el:
- And Aharon spake את all the words which Yahuah had spoken unto Mosheh, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
- And the people believed: and when they heard that Yahuah had visited the children of Yashar’el, and that He had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
Shemoth (Exodus) 5
- And afterward Mosheh and Aharon went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el, Let My people go, that they may hold a feast unto Me in the wilderness.
- And Pharaoh said, Who is Yahuah, that I should obey His voice to let Yashar’el go? I know not Yahuah, neither will I let Yashar’el go.
- And they said, The Elohai of the Ivriym hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto Yahuah Elohaynu; lest He fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
- And the king of Mitsrayim said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Mosheh and Aharon, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
- And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
- And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
- Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
- And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our Elohiym.
- Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.
- And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.
- Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.
- So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Mitsrayim to gather stubble instead of straw.
- And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.
- And the officers of the children of Yashar’el, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
- Then the officers of the children of Yashar’el came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?
- There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.
- But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to Yahuah.
- Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.
- And the officers of the children of Yashar’el did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.
- And they met Mosheh and Aharon, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:
- And they said unto them, Yahuah look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
- And Mosheh returned unto El-Yahuah, and said,Adonai, wherefore hast Thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that Thou hast sent me?
- For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast Thou delivered Thy people at all.
Shemoth (Exodus) 6
- Then Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 27:6 – 28:13
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 27:6
- 6. He shall cause them that come of Ya’aqov to take root: Yashar’el shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
- 7. Hath He smitten him, as He smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
- 8. In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
- 9. By this therefore shall the iniquity of Ya’aqov be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
- 10. Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
- 11. When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore He that made them will not have mercy on them, and He that formed them will shew them no favour.
- 12. And it shall come to pass in that day, that Yahuah shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Mitsrayim, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Yashar’el.
- 13. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Mitsrayim, and shall worship Yahuah in the set-apart mount at Jerusalem.
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 28:1 – 13
- Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephrayim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
- Behold, Adonai hath a mighty and strong One, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
- The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephrayim, shall be trodden under feet:
- And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
- In that day shall Yahuah Tseva’oth be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of His people,
- And for a ruach of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
- But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
- For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
- Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
- For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
- For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
- To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
- But the Word of Yahuah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Mattithyahu (Matthew) 2:1-15
- Now when Yahusha was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
- Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Yahudiym? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
- When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
- And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Mashiach should be born.
- And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
- And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Yashar’el.
- Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
- And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
- When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
- When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
- And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Miryam His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
- And being warned of Elohiym in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
- And when they were departed, behold, the angel of Yah appeareth to Yoseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and His mother, and flee into Mitsrayim, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.
- When he arose, he took the young child and His mother by night, and departed into Mitsrayim:
- And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of Yah by the prophet, saying, Out of Mitsrayim have I called My Son.
