The Torah (Laws) of Yahuah Given to Mosheh
as Recorded in the 613 Mitzvot
Introduction:
This page contains the list of the 613 mitzvot (commandments). I found this list when it was first revealed to me that the entire Bible still applied to followers of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach whom I called Jesus Christ at the time. Once I understood that Mashiach didn’t come to do away with Torah but to show us how to live it, I wanted to know if there was a “list” of the commandments found in the Torah?
Background:
Once I found this list, I studied it and pretty much took it as being accurate. I said wow! 613 commandments!!! Then I said well let’s get into it and I did. What I found were things I already did and thought to be right, nothing shocking or red flagged as something above and beyond. The more I studied them, the more I found that the majority of them didn’t even apply to me because I am not in the category of people that the commandment is for. Example the commandments concerning priest or farmers, I was neither at the time so I didn’t have to worry about them.
Purpose:
The purpose of this page is to provide a list of the 613 mitzvot and provide a link to the scripture reference.
You can see, from the start, I ran into problems with the commandment given and the scripture reference and these numbers are bold with an * after them as in 1*. Even though I ran into errors as you can see below in Corrections: the list is still a solid foundation with the modifications I made to keep true to what the Ruach Ha’Qodesh has lead me through researching and studying the original list.
Corrections:
As stated previously, I ran into problems with the first commandment and I did research to see if maybe it was a mistake but that was not the case, the commandments given in the mitzvot I found, all referenced the Talmud and the Talmud interpretation supersede the plain scripture meaning. I also found duplicate commands or things which I thought should have been combined into one commandment.
The site that best shows this is JewFaq.org and I would like to thank them for their page that list the Talmud commandments as compiled by Rambam in the Mishneh Torah. I would encourage you to open their comprehensive page to compare and see how the Talmud has added to, distorted or even completely made up a totally new commandment! Didn’t Yahusha mention this?
Omissions:
When I was going through the mitzvot, I occasionally ran into a Talmud commandment that I could not find anything similar to it in the Torah and it has no link to a verse in the Torah and is labeled “Cannot find this commandment” or something similar.
There are several sections that I have not researched yet and am unsure if I will. They are very convoluted and highly polluted with Talmud teachings and I don’t feel they really have a place in the believers life today as there is no high priest on earth, no Levitical priesthood, no temple or tabernacle structures, and there is no need for sacrifices nor can they be performed.
The list of omissions is: 1. Tithes, Taxes and T’rumah [Hebrew Offerings]; 2.The Temple, the Sanctuary and Sacred Objects – Sacrifices and Offerings
Final Thoughts:
This list is a great place to start in order to get a true feel of just how simple and straightforward the commandments of Father Yahuah really are and that you are already doing +95%, right now, of the ones that apply to you.
Is this list of commandments all of them? How can we ensure that we are keeping them correctly? What if this or that is true?
The simple truth is that we cannot know the above questions and Pa’ul sums it up best in
2nd Qorintiym chapter 3:4-6 – “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Mashiach ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Ruach of the living Elohiym; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Mashiach toward Elohiym: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of Elohiym; Who also hath made us able ministers of the Renewed Covenant; not of the letter, but of the Ruach: for the letter killeth, but the Ruach giveth life.
Let the Ruach lead you and Yahuah will direct your paths in His Word.
