23 – Parashat Pekudei (פְקוּדֵ֤י) — “Accounts” – August 31st thru September 6th

Shemoth (Exodus) 38:21 – 40:38

Shemoth (Exodus) 38:21

  • 21. This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Mosheh, for the service of the Leviyiym, by the hand of Iythamar, son to Aharon the priest.
  • 22. And Betsal’el the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Yahudah, made את all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  • 23. And with him was Aholiy’av, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.
  • 24. All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the set-apart place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
  • 25. And the silver of them that were numbered of the assembly was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
  • 26. A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.
  • 27. And of the hundred talents of silver were cast את the sockets of the sanctuary, and את the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket.
  • 28. And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them.
  • 29. And the brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels.
  • 30. And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the assembly, and the brasen altar, and the brasen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar,
  • 31. And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court round about.

Shemoth (Exodus) 39

  1. And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the set-apart place, and made the set-apart garments for Aharon; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  2. And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
  3. And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.
  4. They made shoulder pieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.
  5. And the intricate belt of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  6. And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Yashar’el.
  7. And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Yashar’el; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  8. And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
  9. It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.
  10. And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.
  11. And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
  12. And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
  13. And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.
  14. And the stones were according to the names of the children of Yashar’el, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.
  15. And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.
  16. And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.
  17. And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
  18. And the את two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.
  19. And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.
  20. And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the intricate belt of the ephod.
  21. And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the intricate belt of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  22. And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.
  23. And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.
  24. And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.
  25. And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;
  26. A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  27. And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aharon, and for his sons,
  28. And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,
  29. And a belt of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  30. And they made the plate of the set-apart crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, Qodesh L’Yahuah (Set-Apartness to Yahuah).
  31. And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  32. Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the assembly finished: and the children of Yashar’el did according to all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh, so did they.
  33. And they brought the tabernacle unto Mosheh, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,
  34. And the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of antelope skins, and את the vail of the covering,
  35. The Ark of the Testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,
  36. The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,
  37. The pure menorah, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and את the oil for light,
  38. And את the golden altar, and את the anointing oil, and את the sweet incense, and את the hanging for the tabernacle door,
  39. את The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,
  40. את The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and את all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the assembly,
  41. The cloths of service to do service in the set-apart place, and the set-apart garments for Aharon the priest, and his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office.
  42. According to all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh, so the children of Yashar’el made את all the work.
  43. And Mosheh did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as Yahuah had commanded, even so had they done it: and Mosheh blessed them.

Shemoth (Exodus) 40

  1. And Yahuah spake unto Mosheh, saying,
  2. On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the assembly.
  3. And thou shalt put therein את the Ark of the Testimony, and cover the Ark with the vail.
  4. And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the menorah, and light the lamps thereof.
  5. And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the Ark of the Testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.
  6. And thou shalt set את the altar of the ascending smoke offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the assembly.
  7. And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the assembly and the altar, and shalt put water therein.
  8. And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.
  9. And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be set-apart.
  10. And thou shalt anoint the altar of the ascending smoke offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most set-apart.
  11. And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.
  12. And thou shalt bring Aharon and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the assembly, and wash them with water.
  13. And thou shalt put upon Aharon את the set-apart garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto Me in the priest’s office.
  14. And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:
  15. And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto Me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
  16. Thus did Mosheh: according to all that Yahuah commanded him, so did he.
  17. And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
  18. And Mosheh reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
  19. And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  20. And he took and put the Testimony into the Ark, and set the staves on the Ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the Ark:
  21. And he brought the Ark into the tabernacle, and set up את the vail of the covering, and covered the Ark of the Testimony; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  22. And he put the table in the tent of the assembly, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.
  23. And he set the bread in order upon it before Yahuah; as Yahuah had commanded Mosheh.
  24. And he put the menorah in the tent of the assembly, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.
  25. And he lighted the lamps before Yahuah; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  26. And he put the golden altar in the tent of the assembly before the vail:
  27. And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  28. And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.
  29. And he put the altar of ascending smoke offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the assembly, and offered upon it the ascending smoke offering and the oblation; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  30. And he set the laver between the tent of the assembly and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.
  31. And Mosheh and Aharon and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:
  32. When they went into the tent of the assembly, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  33. And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Mosheh finished the work.
  34. Then a cloud covered the tent of the assembly, and the glory of Yahuah filled the tabernacle.
  35. And Mosheh was not able to enter into the tent of the assembly, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of Yahuah filled the tabernacle.
  36. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Yashar’el went onward in all their journeys:
  37. But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
  38. For the cloud of Yahuah was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Yashar’el, throughout all their journeys.

Haftarah Pekudei (פְקוּדֵ֤י) — “Accounts” – August 31st thru September 6th

1st Melekiym (Kings) 7:51

  • 51. So was ended all the work that king Shalomah made for the house of Yahuah. And Shalomah brought in the things which Da’vid his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of Yahuah.

1st Melekiym (Kings) 8:1-21

  1. Then Shalomah assembled the elders of Yashar’el, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Yashar’el, unto king Shalomah in Yerushalayim, that they might bring up the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah out of the city of Da’vid, which is Zion.
  2. And all the men of Yashar’el assembled themselves unto king Shalomah at the feast in the month Eythaniym, which is the seventh month.
  3. And all the elders of Yashar’el came, and the priests took up the Ark.
  4. And they brought up the Ark of Yahuah, and the tabernacle of the assembly, and all the set-apart vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Leviyiym bring up.
  5. And king Shalomah, and all the assembly of Yashar’el, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the Ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
  6. And the priests brought in the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most set-apart place, even under the wings of the cheruviym.
  7. For the cheruviym spread forth their two wings over the place of the Ark, and the cheruviym covered the Ark and the staves thereof above.
  8. And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the set-apart place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
  9. There was nothing in the Ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horev, when Yahuah made a covenant with the children of Yashar’el, when they came out of the land of Mitsrayim.
  10. And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the set-apart place, that the cloud filled the house of Yahuah,
  11. So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of Yahuah had filled the house of Yahuah.
  12. Then spake Shalomah, Yahuah said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
  13. I have surely built Thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for Thee to abide in for ever.
  14. And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Yashar’el: (and all the assembly of Yashar’el stood;)
  15. And he said, Blessed be Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el, which spake with His mouthאת unto Da’vid my father, and hath with His hand fulfilled it, saying,
  16. Since the day that I brought forth My people Yashar’el out of Mitsrayim, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Yashar’el to build an house, that My name might be therein; but I chose Da’vid to be over My people Yashar’el.
  17. And it was in the heart of Da’vid my father to build an house for the name of Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el.
  18. And Yahuah said unto Da’vid my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto My name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
  19. Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto My name.
  20. And Yahuah hath performed His word that He spake, and I am risen up in the room of Da’vid my father, and sit on the throne of Yashar’el, as Yahuah promised, and have built an house for the name of Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el.
  21. And I have set there a place for the Ark, wherein is the covenant of Yahuah, which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim.

Brit Ha’Dasha – Pekudei (פְקוּדֵ֤י) — “Accounts” – August 31st thru September 6th

2nd Qorintiym (Corinthians) 5:1-10 ; Ivriym (Hebrews) 9:1-28

2nd Qorintiym (Corinthians) 5:1-10

  1. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of Elohiym, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
  2. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
  3. If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
  4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
  5. Now He that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is Elohiym, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Ruach.
  6. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from Yahuah:
  7. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
  8. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with Yahuah.
  9. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.
  10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Mashiach; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Ivriym (Hebrews) 9:1-28

  1. Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
  2. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the menorah, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
  3. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Most Set-Apart of all;
  4. Which had the golden censer, and the Ark of the Covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aharon’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
  5. And over it the cheruviyms of glory shadowing the mercy seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
  6. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of Elohiym.
  7. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
  8. The Ruach Ha’Qodesh this signifying, that the way into the most set-apart of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
  9. Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
  10. Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of restoration.
  11. But Mashiach being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
  12. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the set-apart place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
  13. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
  14. How much more shall the blood of Mashiach, who through the eternal Ruach offered Himself without spot to Elohiym, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohiym?
  15. And for this cause He is the mediator of the Renewed Covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
  16. For where a will (testament) is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator (one having made it).
  17. For a will is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
  18. Whereupon neither the first was dedicated without blood.
  19. For when Mosheh had spoken every commandment to all the people according to the Torah, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
  20. Saying, This is the blood of the covenant Elohiym hath commanded unto you.
  21. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
  22. And almost all things are by the Torah purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
  23. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
  24. For Mashiach is not entered into the set-apart places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohiym for us:
  25. Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the set-apart place every year with blood of others;
  26. For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
  27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
  28. So Mashiach was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
