26 – Parashat Ha’Sh’miyniy (הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י) — “The Eighth” – September 21st thru September 27th

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 9:1 – 11:47

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 9

  1. And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Mosheh called Aharon and his sons, and the elders of Yashar’el;
  2. And he said unto Aharon, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for an ascending smoke offering, without blemish, and offer them before Yahuah.
  3. And unto the children of Yashar’el thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for an ascending smoke offering;
  4. Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before Yahuah; and a oblation mingled with oil: for to day Yahuah will appear unto you.
  5. And they brought that את which Mosheh commanded before the tabernacle of the assembly: and all the assembly drew near and stood before Yahuah.
  6. And Mosheh said, This is the thing which Yahuah commanded that ye should do: and the glory of Yahuah shall appear unto you.
  7. And Mosheh said unto Aharon, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy ascending smoke offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as Yahuah commanded.
  8. Aharon therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.
  9. And the sons of Aharon brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar:
  10. But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
  11. And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp.
  12. And he slew the ascending smoke offering; and Aharon’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar.
  13. And they presented the ascending smoke offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar.
  14. And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the ascending smoke offering on the altar.
  15. And he brought the את people’s offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.
  16. And he brought the ascending smoke offering, and offered it according to the manner.
  17. And he brought the oblation, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the ascending smoke sacrifice of the morning.
  18. He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aharon’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,
  19. And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver:
  20. And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:
  21. And את the breasts and את the right shoulder Aharon waved for a wave offering before Yahuah; as Mosheh commanded.
  22. And Aharon lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the ascending smoke offering, and peace offerings.
  23. And Mosheh and Aharon went into the tabernacle of the assembly, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Yahuah appeared unto all the people.
  24. And there came a fire out from before Yahuah, and consumed upon the altar the ascending smoke offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 10

  1. And Nadav and Aviyhu, the sons of Aharon, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before Yahuah, which He commanded them not.
  2. And there went out fire from Yahuah, and devoured them, and they died before Yahuah.
  3. Then Mosheh said unto El-Aharon, This is it that Yahuah spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh Me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aharon held his peace.
  4. And Mosheh called Miysha’el and Eliytsaphan, the sons of Uzziy’el the uncle of Aharon, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
  5. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Mosheh had said.
  6. And Mosheh said unto Aharon, and unto El’azar and unto Iythamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Yashar’el, bewail the burning which Yahuah hath kindled.
  7. And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the assembly, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of Yahuah is upon you. And they did according to the word of Mosheh.
  8. And Yahuah spake unto Aharon, saying,
  9. Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the assembly, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
  10. And that ye may put difference between set-apart and unset-apart, and between unclean and clean;
  11. And that ye may teach the children of Yashar’el את all the statutes which Yahuah hath spoken unto them by the hand of Mosheh.
  12. And Mosheh spake unto El-Aharon, and unto El’azar and unto Iythamar, his sons that were left, Take the oblation that remaineth of the offerings of Yahuah made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most set-apart:
  13. And ye shall eat it in the set-apart place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of Yahuah made by fire: for so I am commanded.
  14. And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Yashar’el.
  15. The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before Yahuah; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as Yahuah hath commanded.
  16. And Mosheh diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with El’azar and Iythamar, the sons of Aharon which were left alive, saying,
  17. Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the set-apart place, seeing it is most set-apart, and Elohiym hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the assembly, to make atonement for them before Yahuah?
  18. Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the set-apart place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the set-apart place, as I commanded.
  19. And Aharon said unto Mosheh, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their ascending smoke offering before Yahuah; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of Yahuah?
  20. And when Mosheh heard that, he was content.

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 11

  1. And Yahuah spake unto Mosheh and to Aharon, saying unto them,
  2. Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
  3. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
  4. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
  5. And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
  6. And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
  7. And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
  8. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
  9. These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
  10. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
  11. They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
  12. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
  13. And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
  14. And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
  15. את Every raven after his kind;
  16. And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
  17. And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
  18. And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
  19. And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
  20. All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
  21. Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
  22. Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
  23. But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
  24. And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
  25. And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
  26. The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
  27. And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
  28. And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
  29. These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
  30. And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
  31. These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
  32. And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
  33. And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
  34. Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
  35. And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.
  36. Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
  37. And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
  38. But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
  39. And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
  40. And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
  41. And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
  42. Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
  43. Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
  44. For I am Yahuah Elohaykem: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be set-apart; for I am set-apart: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
  45. For I am Yahuah that bringeth you up out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohiym: ye shall therefore be set-apart, for I am set-apart.
  46. This is the Torah of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
  47. To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

Haftarah Ha’Sh’miyniy (הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י) — “The Eighth”– September 21st thru September 27th

Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 43:27 44:31

Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 43:27

  • 27. And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your ascending smoke offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith Adonai Yahuah.

Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 44:1 – 44:31

  1. Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.
  2. Then said Yahuah unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because Yahuah, the Elohai of Yashar’el, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
  3. It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before Yahuah; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.
  4. Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of Yahuah filled the house of Yahuah: and I fell upon my face.
  5. And Yahuah said unto me, Son of A’dam, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of Yahuah, and all the Torah thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.
  6. And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Yashar’el, Thus saith Adonai Yahuah; O ye house of Yashar’el, let it suffice you of all your abominations,
  7. In that ye have brought into My sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary, to pollute it, even My house, when ye offer My bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken My covenant because of all your abominations.
  8. And ye have not kept the charge of Mine set-apart things: but ye have set guarders of My charge in My sanctuary for yourselves.
  9. Thus saith Adonai Yahuah; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into My sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Yashar’el.
  10. And the Leviyiym that are gone away far from me, when Yashar’el went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.
  11. Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
  12. Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Yashar’el to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith Adonai Yahuah, and they shall bear their iniquity.
  13. And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my set-apart things, in the most set-apart place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.
  14. But I will make them guarders of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.
  15. But the priests the Leviyiym, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of My sanctuary when the children of Yashar’el went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister unto Me, and they shall stand before Me to offer unto Me the fat and the blood, saith Adonai Yahuah:
  16. They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near to My table, to minister unto Me, and they shall guard my charge.
  17. And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
  18. They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.
  19. And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the set-apart chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.
  20. Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.
  21. Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.
  22. Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Yashar’el, or a widow that had a priest before.
  23. And they shall teach My people the difference between the set-apart and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
  24. And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to My judgments: and they shall guard my Torah and My statutes in all Mine assemblies; and they shall hallow My Shabbaths.
  25. And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.
  26. And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days.
  27. And in the day that he goeth into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith Adonai Yahuah.
  28. And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Yashar’el: I am their possession.
  29. They shall eat the oblation, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering: and every dedicated thing in Yashar’el shall be theirs.
  30. And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.
  31. The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.

Brit Ha’Dasha Ha’Sh’miyniy (הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י) — “The Eighth” – September 21st thru September 27th

Mattithyahu (Matthew) 28:1-10 & Ivriym (Hebrews) 5:1-10

Mattithyahu (Matthew) 28:1-10

  1. After the Shabbath, as it began to grow light toward Bikkuriym (the first day Shabbath), came Miryam of Magdal and the other Miryam to see the sepulchre.
  2. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of Yahuah descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
  3. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
  4. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
  5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Yahusha, which was crucified.
  6. He is not here: for He is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where He lay.
  7. And go quickly, and tell His talmidiym that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you.
  8. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his talmidiym word.
  9. And as they went to tell his talmidiym, behold, Yahusha met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
  10. Then said Yahusha unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me.

Ivriym (Hebrews) 5:1-10

  1. For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to Elohiym, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
  2. Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
  3. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
  4. And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of Elohiym, as was Aharon.
  5. So also Mashiach glorified not Himself to be made an high priest; but He that said unto Him, Thou art My Son, to day have I begotten Thee.
  6. As He saith also in another place, Thou art a Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
  7. Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared;
  8. Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;
  9. And being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him;
  10. Called of Elohiym an High Priest after the order of Melchisedec.
