Tehilliym (Psalms) 66

A hymn of praise which calls men to worship Yahuah Elohiym of Yashar’el”

To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song or Psalm.

Introduction:

Tehilliym 66 is a psalm that calls all people upon the face of the earth to come worship, praise and sing blessings of thanksgiving to Yahuah Elohiym that rules everything. The poet of the psalm is unknown and is written as a universal call to praise Elohiym for the greatness of His power and terribleness of His wrath to those who choose not to praise Him. We are reminded to make our praise of our Elohiym be known because He holds all life in His hand and He will try and test all those who love Him in order to prove and refine us into the pure worshipper that He desire us to be. Elohiym’s true temple is our body and we are to offer it as a living sacrifice and offering, the only one that He has ever truly desired. The psalmist calls all those who fear Elohiym to come and hear the great things He has done for him because of the true praise and worship that can only be attained from a heart that does not regard iniquity.

Tehilliym 66 (KJV-YS):

Verses 1-4: Make a Joyful Noise to Elohiym!

Insights: The psalmist begins with the call for everyone to make a joyful noise and sing glorious praises to Elohiym for He is terrible in all of His works, causing His enemies and all the earth to worship Yahuah Elohiym and to sing unto His name.

“1. Make a joyful noise unto Elohiym, all ye lands: 2. Sing forth the honour of His name: make His praise glorious. 3. Say unto Elohiym, How terrible art Thou in Thy works! through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee. 4. All the earth shall worship Thee, and shall sing unto Thee; they shall sing to Thy name. Selah.”

Cross References:

v-1: “Make a joyful noise unto Elohiym, all ye lands:”
1st Hayamiym (Chronicles) 16:23-25 – “Sing unto Yahuah, all the earth; shew forth from day to day His yeshu’ah (salvation). Declare His glory among the heathen; His marvellous works among all nations. For great is Yahuah, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all elohiym.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 81:1-3 –
“Sing aloud unto Elohiym our strength: make a joyful noise unto the Elohiym of Ya’aqov. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. Blow up the shofar (trumpet) in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 100:1-2 –
“Make a joyful noise unto Yahuah, all ye lands. Serve Yahuah with gladness: come before His presence with singing.”
Eph’siym (Ephesians) 5:19 –
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to Yahuah; Giving thanks always for all things unto Elohiym and the Father in the name of our Adonai Yahusha Ha’Mashiach;”
Reflection:
The psalmist declares that all we have to do is make a joyful noise unto Elohiym even if we are not a great singer and that just this simple act in itself is the praise that Elohiym is looking for from everything in His creation.

v-2: “Sing forth the honour of His name: make His praise glorious.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 107:21-22 – “Oh that men would praise Yahuah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 6:3 –
“And one cried unto another, and said, Set-apart, set-apart, set-apart, is Yahuah Tseva’oth: the whole earth is full of His glory.”
Chazon (Revelation) 5:13
“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
Reflection: We are to sing for praise, to honour His set-apart and righteous name and to make His praise glorious.

v-3: Say unto Elohiym, How terrible art Thou in Thy works! through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 35:5 –“And they journeyed: and the terror of Elohiym was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Ya’aqov.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 111:10 –
“The fear of Yahuah is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 2:19 –
“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of Yahuah, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
2ndQorintiym (Corinthians) 5:10-11 –
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Mashiach; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of Yahuah, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto Elohiym; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
Reflection: Yahuah Elohiym is terrible in all of His works. Through the greatness of His power, even His enemies will fear Him and there is none that will not have to bow down before His throne.

v-4:“All the earth shall worship Thee, and shall sing unto Thee; they shall sing to Thy name. Selah.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 96:1-4 –
“O sing unto Yahuah a new song: sing unto Yahuah, all the earth. Sing unto Yahuah, bless His name; shew forth His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people. For Yahuah is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all elohiym.”
Chazon (Revelation) 15:4
“Who shall not fear thee, O Yahuah, and glorify Thy name? for Thou only art set-apart: for all nations shall come and worship before Thee; for Thy judgments are made manifest.”
Reflection: The entire earth will have to worship and sing the praises of the true Creator Elohiym one way or the other, on their own or by His mighty power.

Which group are you going to be in on that day when all will have to praise Elohiym?

Verse 5: The Terrible Works of Elohiym

Insights: The psalmist invites everyone to come and see the works of Elohiym because He is terrible in His doings towards the children of men.

v-5:
“Come and see the works of Elohiym: He is terrible in His doing toward the children of men.”
Bemidbar (Numbers) 23:23 –“Surely there is no enchantment against Ya’aqov, neither is there any divination against Yashar’el: according to this time it shall be said of Ya’aqov and of Yashar’el, What hath El wrought!”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 46:7-9 – “Yahuah Tseva’oth is with us; the Elohiym of Ya’aqov is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of Yahuah, what desolations He hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire. ”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 24:29-30 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of A’dam in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of A’dam coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Reflection: We can either submit ourselves to Father Yahuah in the servanthood of humility or we will regret it when His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach returns one day soon.

Do you see the terrible works of Elohiym being performed throughout the world today?

Verses 6-7: The Power of Elohiym

Insights: The power and might of Elohiym towards His people is unmatched calling for all that rebel and exalt themselves against Him to experience the wrath of His power.

“6. He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in Him.
7. He ruleth by His power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.”

Cross References:

v-6: “He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in Him.”
Shemoth (Exodus) 14:21 “And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea; and Yahuah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 78:13 –
“He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters to stand as an heap.”
1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 10:1-2 – “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Mosheh in the cloud and in the sea;”
Reflection:
The power of Elohiym caused His chosen people to walk across the sea on dry land and through His power His people who walk in covenant with Him are still provided for.

v-7: He ruleth by His power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.”
2ndHayamiym (Chronicles) 16:9 –
“For the eyes of Yahuah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 62:11-12 –
“Elohiym hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto Elohiym. Also unto Thee, O Yahuah, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.”
Daniy’el (Daniel) 4:35 –
“And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest Thou? ”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 28:18
“And Yahusha came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.”
Reflection: Through His power alone, Elohiym rules forever and there is none, no not one, that can stand before the power of His glory when He pays everyone for the work they have done here.

What will be the payment you receive from Elohiym when you stand before Him?

Verses 8-9: Elohiym Holds All Life in His Hand

Insights: The psalmist calls on everyone to bless our Elohiym and make His praises heard because He alone sustains us all and makes it so we are not moved away from Him

8. O bless our Elohiym, ye people, and make the voice of His praise to be heard: 9. Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.”

Cross References:

v-8: “O bless our Elohiym, ye people, and make the voice of His praise to be heard:”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 32:43 – “Rejoice, O ye nations, with His people: for He will avenge the blood of His servants, and will render vengeance to His adversaries, and will be merciful unto His land, and to His people.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 98:4 –
“Make a joyful noise unto Yahuah, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto Yahuah with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 33:11 –
“The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise Yahuah Tseva’oth: for Yahuah good; for His mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of Yahuah. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith Yahuah .”
Chazon (Revelation) 19:1
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Hallelu-Yah (Praise Ye Yahuah); Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto Yahuah Elohaynu:”
Reflection:
Unlike those who serve themselves or other elohiym, the Elohiym of the children of Yashar’el, our Elohiym, will repay all those who do not praise Him.

v-9: “Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 37:23-24 –
“The steps of a good man are ordered by Yahuah: and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for Yahuah upholdeth him with His hand.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 94:18-19 –
“When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O Yahuah, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 121:1-3 –
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from Yahuah, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 17:28 –
“For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.”
Reflection:
What a blessing it is to serve the true creator Elohiym who loves and protects those who love Him and walk in the pathways of His truth and mercy because He will not let our feet be moved from serving and praising His beautiful set-apart and righteous name.

Do you bless Elohiym because He holds your life in His hand so that you will not be moved in the tribulation to come?

Verses 10-12: Elohiym Purifies Those He Loves

Insights: Those that Father Yahuah loves He will prove them and refine them just like the purest silver is made. He will put us through trials and tribulations in order to turn us back to Him so that we can have our inheritance in Him.

“10. For Thou, O Elohiym, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. 11. Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins. 12. Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

Cross References:

v-10:For Thou, O Elohiym, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 8:2 – “And thou shalt remember all the way which Yahuah Elohayka led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no.”
Zakaryahu (Zechariah) 13:9 –
“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, Yahuah is my Elohiym.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 17:3 –
“Thou hast proved mine heart; Thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.”
1stKepha (Peter) 1:6-7 –
“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach:”
Reflection: Do not be discouraged because of the trials and tribulations we go through in this life, for it is all to prove us, just as all precious things are proved and tried to ensure they are pure for Yahuah Elohiym, the true King.

v-11: “Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins.”
Qiynah (Lamentations) 1:13-14 –
“From above hath He sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: He hath spread a net for my feet, He hath turned me back: He hath made me desolate and faint all the day. The yoke of my transgressions is bound by His hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: He hath made my strength to fall, Yahuah hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.”
Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 12:13-15 –
“My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in My snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there. And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them. And they shall know that I am Yahuah, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 23:47-50
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Reflection: When the chosen children of Elohiym disobey Him, His net is cast to draw them back to Him and if they are not found worthy after they are tried, they are cast into the fire and counted as worthless.

v-12: “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 40:1-3 – “I waited patiently for Yahuah; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our Elohiym: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in Yahuah.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 43:1-2 –“But now thus saith Yahuah that created thee, O Ya’aqov, and He that formed thee, O Yashar’el, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 14:22 –
“Confirming the souls of the talmidiym (disciples), and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of Elohiym.”
Reflection: Our Saviour, Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, suffered through trials and tribulations in this world, and He was perfect. How much more should we endure trials and tribulations, we who have sinned and continually come short of His glory, to enter into the eternal kingdom of Elohiym?

Can you see how the trying of your faith has made you closer to Elohiym and humbled you so you can serve Him for eternity in His eternal kingdom?

Verses 13-15: Always Pay What You Vow to Elohiym

Insights: The lips of the psalmist have uttered vows in their time of trouble that they must now pay and they pay them through sacrifices and offerings in the tabernacle of Elohiym.

“13. I will go into Thy house with ascending smoke offerings: I will pay Thee my vows, 14. Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. 15. I will offer unto Thee ascending smoke sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.”

v-13: “I will go into Thy house with ascending smoke offerings: I will pay Thee my vows,”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 116:17-18 –
“I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of Yahuah. I will pay my vows unto Yahuah now in the presence of all His people, I will pay my vows unto Yahuah now in the presence of all His people,”
Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 5:4 – “When thou vowest a vow unto Elohiym, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”
Yonah (Jonah) 2:9 –
“But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of Yahuah.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:33-34a & 37
“Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto Yahuah thine oaths: 34a. But I say unto you, Swear not at all; & 37. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
Reflection: When we make a promise to Elohiym, we are to honour the words which we have spoken. It is better to keep our mouth shut and vow inside ourselves, which may I remind you that Elohiym hears those as well, than to utter vows to Elohiym in front of people and then fail to keep the vows which we have spoken with our mouths.

v-14: “Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.”
Bemidbar (Numbers) 30:2 –
“If a man vow a vow unto Yahuah, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.”
Shofetiym (Judges) 11:30-31 & –
“And Yephthah vowed a vow unto Yahuah, and said, If Thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be Yahuah’s, and I will offer it up for an ascending smoke offering. & 35. And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto Yahuah, and I cannot go back.”
Ya’aqov (James) 5:12 – “But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.”
Reflection: The psalmist identifies a common problem that we have all encountered in our lives, that when we get in trouble, we will say anything if we think it will get us out of the problem we are in. This is something that can cause great distress and curses in our lives. Be very careful of the vows that you vow when you are in trouble.

v-15: “I will offer unto Thee ascending smoke sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.”
1stShemu’el (Samuel) 15:22 –
“And Shemu’elsaid, Hath Yahuah as great delight in ascending smoke offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Yahuah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 9:13“But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Eph’siym (Ephesians) 5:2 –
“And walk in love, as Mashiach also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to Elohiym for a sweet smelling savour.”
Qolasiym (Colossians) 2:13-14 –
“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;”
Reflection: The only sacrifices and offerings we can make to Elohiym now are done through our body and the works we do through His Son. The blood sacrifices of old were paid in full when they nailed our Master and Saviour Yahusha Ha’Mashiach to His cross.

Do you offer the pure sacrifices and offerings Elohiym desires through the earthen vessel (tabernacle) Yahuah has given you?

Verses 16-17: To Fear Elohiym is to Praise Elohiym

Insights: The psalmist invites all those who fear Elohiym to come and hear that Yahuah alone is the One that he cries out praises to with his voice.

16. Come and hear, all ye that fear Elohiym, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul.
17. I cried unto Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.”

v-16: “Come and hear, all ye that fear Elohiym, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul. ”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 34:11 –
“Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Yahuah.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 9:10 –
“The fear of Yahuah is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the set-apart is understanding.”
Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:13 – “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohiym, and guard His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 10:35 –
“But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.”
Reflection: We are to let everyone know that the fear of Yahuah is the reason we have joy and peace in our lives. Even though we may go through the fire of tribulation here, we will not have to endure the eternal death of fire that awaits the world of unbelievers who do not fear Elohiym and walk in the commandments of His set-apart way here.

v-17: “I cried unto Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 34:3-7 –
“O magnify Yahuah with me, and let us exalt His name together. I bsought Yahuah, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and Yahuah heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of Yahuah encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 145:1-2 –
“I will extol Thee, my Elohiym, O King; and I will bless Yhy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever.”
Philippiym (Philippians) 4:6-7 – “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohiym. And the peace of Elohiym, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Mashiach Yahusha.”
Reflection: The main part of our prayer life should be to bless, praise, worship, exalt, magnify and extol the name of Yahuah Elohai with our voices.

Do you praise Yahuah Elohiym through the fear you have of Him?

Verses 18-20: Yahuah’s Mercy to the Heart Free of Iniquity

Insights: The psalmist ends their call to sing praises and worship Elohiym by reminding all that the only way our petitions and praises will be heard is if we do not have iniquity in our heart. He says this is the reason that Elohiym has heard his prayers of supplication, granted the petitions of his prayer and has not turned them away because of the abundance of His mercy.

“18. If I regard iniquity in my heart, Yahuah will not hear me: 19. But verily Elohiym hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer. 20. Blessed be Elohiym, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.”

v-18: “If I regard iniquity in my heart, Yahuah will not hear me:”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 15:29 –
“Yahuah is far from the wicked: but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 28:9 –
“He that turneth away his ear from hearing the Torah (Law), even his prayer shall be abomination.”
Yochanon (John) 9:31 – “Now we know that Elohiym heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of Elohiym, and doeth His will, him He heareth.”
Ya’aqov (James) 4:3 –
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohiym? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohiym.”
Reflection: Yahuah does not and will not hear the prayers of the wicked who pray for their own gain and do not do the will of Elohiym.

v-19: “But verily Elohiym hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 6:9 – “Yahuah hath heard my supplication; Yahuah will receive my prayer.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 116:1-2 –
“I love Yahuah, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 5:7 – “Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared;”
1st Yochanon (John) 3:20-22 –
“For if our heart condemn us, Elohiym is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward Elohiym. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”
Reflection: Elohiym hears and attends to the prayers of those who seek to do His will and not their own will.

v-20: “Blessed be Elohiym, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 51:10-12 –
“Create in me a clean heart, O Elohiym; and renew a right ruach (spirit) within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Ruach Ha’Qodesh (holy spirit) from me. Restore unto me the joy of Thy yeshu’ah (salvation); and uphold me with Thy free Ruahch.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 86:12-13 –
“I will praise thee, O Yahuah Elohai, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy name for evermore. For great is Thy mercy toward me: and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.”
1st Yochanon (John) 5:14-15 – “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.”
Reflection: The psalmist closes with blessing Elohiym, Who will not turn away our prayers nor His mercy from us. No matter what we go through in this life and in whatever way it is appointed for our life to end here, He will be with us. We have to remember that even if we don’t think we see our prayers being answered here, just like Lazarus and Elohiym’s Own Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, that on the other side of death we will find out how great His attention was to our prayers and supplications, when we enter into the rest that He promised us from the beginning on the seventh day.

Why do you think people believe that they can plot iniquity in their heart against others and their prayers will be heard by Elohiym?

Conclusion:

Tehilliym 66 is a psalm that calls all of the earth to come to bless, praise and worship the true creator Elohiym and to make His praise glorious. The psalmist reminds us that whether we choose to do it voluntarily or not, all the earth will acknowledge His mighty works through the terrible things that He will do in front of each and every one of us, that once the terrible works are done, there will be no questions or doubts about His true Kingship and power forever. We are to encourage all the earth to fear our Elohiym which holds every soul in the land of the living by the breath of His nostril and causes our feet not to be moved. We are reminded, that through trials and tribulations, we are proved worthy for the kingdom of Elohiym and that when we vow a vow to Him, we are to do what proceeds from our mouth. The ending of the psalm calls all that fear Elohiym to hear that the only way for Him to hear our prayers and supplications is to walk in obedience to Him, abstain from allowing iniquity into our hearts, and then we can truly receive the blessings we pray for through the grace and mercy of Elohiym’s love.
