The Gospel According to Marqus 10 (KJV-YS): Part 2
Overall Introduction:
Marqus chapter ten is an introduction to Yahusha’s final ministry in Yerushalayim, where He teaches on the cost and the reward of following Him, including His doctrine on adultery, divorce, and remarriage with a living spouse, the rich young ruler’s story, His foretelling of His own death again, and His healing of blind Bartimaeus. The chapter also contains a pivotal moment where He blesses little children and teaches that the way to greatness is through service to others, which represents a dividing line between Yahusha’s public ministry and His Passion.
Marqus 10:17-31 – Yahusha Teaches that Obedience is the Key
Insights: After finishing the teaching on adultery and calling the children to Him, Mashiach Yahusha continues His journey to Yerushalayim with His talmidiym. While walking in the way, a rich young ruler came to Him wanting to know what he needed to do to have eternal life. In both of the accounts that were written for the no Hebrew audiences, the first commandment that is given is to not commit adultery followed by the commands to not murder, steal, lie and to honour your father and mother. In his pride, the young man said that he had done all of these since he was young. Yahusha already knew this and then told him the thing that caused him to leave sad, He told him to sell everything he had, give it to the poor, take up his cross and follow Him, hitting the young man where it hurt the most for him, his wealth in this world. The young man was sad at this and left to go back to his possessions.
Yahusha looks around to His talmidiym and begins to explain to them that those who have riches in this life it is hard for them to enter the kingdom of Elohiym. The talmidiym couldn’t believe what He was saying so He had to reduce it down for them that it is not the riches but people trusting in what they have here instead of relying on Yahuah to provide for them. He then gives them an example of how difficult it actually is and the talmidiym are even more astonished and say that it is impossible for a rich person to enter the kingdom of Elohiym. Yahusha then tell them that what is impossible for men is not impossible for Elohiym because He can do all things. Kepha then says that he and the other talmidiym have left everything to follow Him and then Yahusha tells them that everything they have left in this life will be given back to them one hundred fold in this time and they shall have eternal life in the world to come. Mashiach then adds that many who are first will be last and that the last will be first.
“17. And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18. And Yahusha said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but One, that is, Elohiym. 19. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20. And he answered and said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21. Then Yahusha beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me. 22. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23. And Yahusha looked round about, and saith unto His talmidiym, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of Elohiym! 24. And the talmidiym were astonished at His words. But Yahusha answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of Elohiym! 25. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Elohiym. 26. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27. And Yahusha looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with Elohiym: for with Elohiym all things are possible. 28. Then Kepha began to say unto Him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed Thee. 29. And Yahusha answered and said, Amein I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the besorah’s, 30. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”
Cross References Verses 17-31:
v17: “And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 17:7-8 –“And I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be an Elohiym unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Kena’an, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their Elohiym.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 49:15 – “But Elohiym will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for He shall receive me. Selah”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 25:46 – “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
Yochanon (John) 6:40 – “And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Chazon (Revelation) 20:10 & 15 – “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. & 15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Reflection: People want to know the important question that crosses everyone’s mind, what must they do to have eternal life. The young ruler was no different, he wanted to ensure that he was on the right path to eternal life. The thing that most do not understand is that we are all going to have **eternal life, the question is, what will your eternal life be? Do not be fooled into thinking that after the judgment you will be destroyed and be in existence no more…
v18: “And Yahusha said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but One, that is, Elohiym.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 1:31 –“And Elohiym saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 32:3-4 – “Because I will publish the name of Yahuah: ascribe ye greatness unto our Elohiym. He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: an Elohiym of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.”
1st Shemu’el (Samuel) 2:2 – “There is none set-apart as Yahuah: for there is none beside Thee: neither is there any rock like our Elohiym.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 14:1-3 – “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no Elohiym. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Yahuah looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek Elohiym. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 51:5 – “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 107:1 – “O give thanks unto Yahuah, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.”
Romayim (Romans) 2:4 – “Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of Elohiym leadeth thee to repentance?”
Romayim (Romans) 3:9-12 – “What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Yahudiym and the other nations, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after Elohiym. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Reflection: Was Mashiach Yahusha saying that He was not good? There is only One that is good and that is Elohiym.
v19: “Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.”
Shemoth (Exodus) 20:12-16– “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which Yahuah Elohaykem giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 6:32 – “But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:19 – “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
Romayim (Romans) 13:9-10 – “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Torah. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Torah.”
1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 6:7-10 – “Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Elohiym? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Elohiym.”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 13:4 – “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers Elohiym will judge.”
Ya’aqov (James) 2:10-12 – “For whosoever shall guard the whole Torah, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the Torah. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the Torah of liberty.”
Reflection: Why does Yahusha put adultery before murder and why does He not list the commandments we must guard that have to do with our relationship with Elohiym? Throughout the scriptures we find it repeated that adulterers will not enter into the kingdom of Elohiym and that they will be judged but yet this commandment has been relegated to something of non importance in the body of Mashiach today. Is it a coincidence that Yahusha places this commandment first to the young man after He just expounded upon it verses before?
v20: “And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 16:18-19 – “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty ruach before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble ruach with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 58:2-4 –“Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their Elohiym: they ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to Elohiym. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and Thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and Thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.”
Luqas (Luke) 18:11-12 – “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, Elohiym, I thank Thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.”
2nd Timotheus (Timothy) 3:5 – “Having a form of set-apartness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Reflection: Instead of humbly answering Yahusha, the ruach of pride caused the rich man to boast in his observance of these commandments. The ruach of pride will always lead us away from Father Yahuah and cause us to go in the way that is contrary to His way. Pride is something that we must continually guard against in our sojourn here.
v21: “Then Yahusha beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 7:9 – “Know therefore that Yahuah Elohayka, He is Elohiym, the faithful El, which guardeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations; ”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 15:10-11 – “Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing Yahuah Elohayka shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 86:5 – “For thou, Adonai, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:24 – “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve Elohiym and mammon.”
2nd Qorintiym (Corinthians) 9:7 – “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for Elohiym loveth a cheerful giver.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 14:22 – “Confirming the souls of the talmidiym, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of Elohiym.”
Reflection: Yahusha loved the young man but still rebuked him on his faults. In our walk with Mashiach, we must always be humble and seek His guidance on what we need to be working on in our life so that we can have eternal life in peace with Elohiym instead of being punished for eternity. We all have our possessions that we do not want to give up.
v22: “And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 8:18 – “But thou shalt remember Yahuah Elohayka: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 49:10-11 – “For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 23:4-5 – “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.”
Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 5:10 & 13 – “He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. & 13. There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:20-21 – “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
1st Yochanon (John) 2:15-17 – “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of Elohiym abideth for ever.”
Reflection: If we place anything above our love and obedience to Yahuah and His way, we will not have a pleasant eternity.
v23: “And Yahusha looked round about, and saith unto His talmidiym, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of Elohiym!”
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 8:11-14 – “Beware that thou forget not Yahuah Elohayka , in not keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget Yahuah Elohayka, which brought thee forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage;”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 30:8-9 – “Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny Thee, and say, Who is Yahuah? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my Elohiym in vain.”
Ezra v’Nechemyahu (Nehemiah) 9:25-26 – “And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in Thy great goodness. Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against Thee, and cast Thy Torah behind their backs, and slew Thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to Thee, and they wrought great provocations.”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 11:24-26 – “By faith Mosheh, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of Elohiym, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Mashiach greater riches than the treasures in Mitsrayim: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
Ya’aqov (James) 4:1-4 – “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohiym? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohiym.”
Reflection: We are constantly reminded that the love of the riches in this life will lead to being at odds with Elohiym. Are you placing things of this world above your relationship with Yahuah?
v.24: “And the talmidiym were astonished at His words. But Yahusha answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of Elohiym!”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 17:14 – “From men which are thy hand, O Yahuah, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with Thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 52:7-8 – “Lo, this is the man that made not Elohiym his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of Elohiym: I trust in the mercy of Elohiym for ever and ever.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 62:10-12 – “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. Elohiym hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto Elohiym. Also unto Thee, O Adonai, belongeth mercy: for Thou renderest to every man according to his work.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 9:23-24 –“Thus saith Yahuah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am Yahuah which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Yahuah.”
1st Timotheus (Timothy) 6:17 – “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living Elohiym, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 12:2 – “Looking unto Yahusha the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of Elohiym.”
Ya’aqov (James) 5:1-3 – “Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.”
Reflection: Trusting in anything other than Elohiym will lead to destruction. In the world we live, everyone thinks that because they have retirement plans, their wills providing for their descendants and the such, that they are secure, but I ask you, what are you investing in your eternity?
v.25: “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Elohiym.”
Shemoth (Exodus) 10:3 – “And Mosheh and Aharon came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith Yahuah Elohai of the Ivriym, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me.”
1st Melekiym (Kings) 10:14-17 – “Now the weight of gold that came to Shalomah in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and lof all the kings of Arav, and of the governors of the country. And king Shalomah made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in nthe house of the forest of Lebanon.”
1st Melekiym (Kings) 11:7-10 – “Then did Shalomah build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Mo’av, in the hill that is before Yerushalayim, and for Molek, the abomination of the children of Ammon. And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their elohiym. And Yahuah was angry with Shalomah, because his heart was turned from Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el, which had appeared unto him twice, And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other elohiym: but he kept not that which Yahuah commanded.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 16:5-6 – “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahuah: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of Yahuah men depart from evil.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 2:11-12 – “The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Yahuah alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of Yahuah Tseva’oth shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:”
Ya’aqov (James) 4:6 – “But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, Elohiym resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
Reflection: One of the wisest and richest men to have ever lived, king Shalomah, let his earthly possessions, namely his adultery, separate him from Yahuah. How much more can the love of this world separate us, who are not as wise as Shalomah, from Yahuah. Do you think that Shalomah is resting in peace right now or is he in torment with the rich man?
v.26: “And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 147:6 – “Yahuah lifteth up the meek: He casteth the wicked down to the ground.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 149:4 – “For Yahuah taketh pleasure in His people: He will beautify the meek with yeshu’ah (salvation).”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:32-35 – “For the froward is abomination to Yahuah: but His secret is with the righteous. The curse of Yahuah is in the house of the wicked: but He blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely He scorneth the scorners: but He giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 22:2-4 – “The rich and poor meet together: Yahuah is the Maker of them all. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. By humility and the fear of Yahuah are riches, and honour, and life.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:2-10 – “And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in ruach: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed hare the pure in heart: for they shall see Elohiym. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of Elohiym. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Chazon (Revelation) 13:16-17 – “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
Chazon (Revelation) 20:4 – “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahusha, and for the Word of Elohiym, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Mashiach a thousand years.”
Reflection: The talmidiym, just like we, want to have enough in this world to be comfortable and to provide for our loved ones but there is a point, a fine line in the sand, that changes this from necessity to greed and the love of money. I encourage you all to prepare mentally and in ruach for the day that is fast approaching when we will not be able to use the currency of this world or we will lose our soul to eternal punishment.
v.27: “And Yahusha looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with Elohiym: for with Elohiym all things are possible.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 18:13-14 – “And Yahuah said unto Avraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for Yahuah? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 32:17-18 & 26-27 –“Ah Adonai Yahuah! Behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: Ha’Gadol (the Great), Ha’El Gibbor (the Mighty) , Yahuah Tseva’oth, is His name, & 26. Then came the Word of Yahuah unto Yirmeyahu, saying, Behold, I am Yahuah, the Elohai of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?”
Luqas (Luke) 1:37 – “For with Elohiym nothing shall be impossible.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 2:24 – “Whom Elohiym hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it.”
Reflection: The “prosperity gospel” uses this verse in their theology saying that through God you can have the riches of this world and not go to hell because it is God’s will. It is not the will of Elohiym to seek treasure here but to send place our treasure in His kingdom.
v.28: “Then Kepha began to say unto Him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed Thee.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 12:1 –“Now Yahuah had said unto Avram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 19:29 – “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”
Luqas (Luke) 14:33 – “So likewise, whosoever the be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My talmidiym.”
Philippiym (Philippians) 3:7-8 – “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Mashiach. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Mashiach Yahusha my Adonai: for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Mashiach,”
Reflection: Are we to literally forsake everything we have here to be a follower of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach? Only you can answer that question by listening to what He is telling you to do. Throughout our sojourn here, we may be called to leave everything behind on many occasions, maybe once or maybe never at all. The question is, if He tells you to, will you be obedient?
v.29: “And Yahusha answered and said, Amein I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the besorah’s,”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 10:18 – “And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the other nations.”
Marqus (Mark) 8:35 – “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the besorah’s, the same shall save it.”
1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 9:23 –“ And this I do for the besorah’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.”
Reflection: If we are called to leave the things of this life, then we must be obedient just as the talmidiym were.
v.30: “But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 19:9-11 – “The fear of Yahuah is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of Yahuah are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is Thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.”
Mal’akiy (Malachi) 3:10 – “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith Yahuah Tseva’oth, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
Romayim (Romans) 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Elohiym is eternal life through Yahusha Ha’Mashiach our Adonai.”
Ya’aqov (James) 1:2-4 – “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
Reflection: If we are called to leave everything, Yahuah will bless us with more when Mashiach Yahusha returns and then we will have eternal life in paradise when Father Yahuah comes with the new heaven and the new earth. I pray that you send your treasure ahead and not store it up here…
v31: “But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”
Tehilliym (Psalms) 34:18 – “Yahuah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite ruach.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 15:33 – “The fear of Yahuah is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 29:23 – “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in ruach.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 20:16 – “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”
Luqas (Luke) 13:30 – “And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.”
Reflection: We see throughout the scriptures that the ruach of pride, wanting to be the most important and the first is not what Yahuah wants from us. He desires that we be as Mashiach Yahusha was, a humble servant to all that He sends us to, we are to be humble and serve.

Marqus 10:32-34 – Yahusha Reveals His Death and Resurrection the Third Time
Insights: Continuing on the way to Yerushalayim, Yahusha tells His talmidiym about His torture, murder and resurrection for the third time.
“32. And they were in the way going up to Yerushalayim; and Yahusha went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And He took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto Him, 33. Saying, Behold, we go up to Yerushalayim; and the Son of A’dam shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the other nations: 34. And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: and the third day He shall rise again.”

Overall Reflection of Marqus 10 Part 2:
In part two of chapter ten of the Besorah of Marqus, Yahusha continues to teach that obedience is the key to eternal life with Elohiym. He reiterates that adultery is very important to the commandments and that the love of the things in this world will lead to being separated from the love of Yahuah. He teaches the talmidiym that they must be humble and to not think of themselves more than they should, because the first will be last and the last will be first. He then teaches them for the third time of what He must go through soon in Yerushalayim, His torture, death and resurrection to the eternal life everyone is seeking but most will not find because of the disobedience and love of the things in this life.
