The Renewed Covenants and the Promise of a Nation of Sukkahs
The original covenant that A’dam and Chuah had broken was renewed by Yahuah with Noach and his sons after the flood:
Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:13-14 – “ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohiym, and guard His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For Elohiym shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.“
After the renewal of the covenant with Noach and his sons the earth quickly fell back into full rebellion against Yahuah under the leadership of Nimrod:
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 10:8-10 – “ And Kush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty warrior in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before Yahuah: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty warrior hunter before Yahuah. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erek, and Akkad, and Kalneh, in the land of Shin’ar.”
The whole earth had gathered together under one language, built one large sukkah (the tower), to rebel against Yahuah and pollute all the flesh sukkahs once again but because of the promise Yahuah had made to Noach to not destroy all the flesh on the earth again, He scattered the people abroad instead of destroying all of the flesh sukkahs again:
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 11:1 & 5-9 – “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech…
5. And Yahuah came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And Yahuah said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So Yahuah scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because Yahuah did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did Yahuah scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”
Ruach Yahuah Elohiym continued to dwell with men in the lineage from Noach to Avram but still the majority of the sukkahs were places of defilement and rebellion against Yahuah Elohiym. They were still dens of wickedness inhabited by the fallen entities who continued their rebellion against Yahuah through the temples He had created for Himself to dwell in. The enemy continued to defile Yahuah’s tabernacles but He had a plan to build a nation of sukkahs for Himself to dwell in and walk among the entire earth:
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 12:1-3 – “Now Yahuah had said unto Avram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-6 – “Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and guard My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine: And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a set-apart nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Yashar’el.”
Because Avram obeyed Yahuah and guarded HIs commandments, Yahuah extended His covenant to Avram and changed his name to Avraham to continue His lineage of sukkahs:
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 17:1-8 – “And when Avram was ninety years old and nine, Yahuah appeared to Avram, and said unto him, I am El Shaddai; walk before Me, and be thou perfect. And I will make My covenant between Me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Avram fell on his face: and Elohiym talked with him, saying, As for Me, behold, My covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Avram, but thy name shall be Avraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish My covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be an Elohiym unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their Elohiym.“
The covenant is extended to Yitschaq, Ya’aqov and to Yashar’el to be sukkahs:
Tehilliym (Psalms) 105:8-10 – “ He hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant He cut with Avraham, and His oath unto Yitschaq; And confirmed the same unto Ya’aqov for a law, and to Yashar’el for an everlasting covenant:”
Summary of the Renewed Covenants and the Promise of a Nation of Sukkahs
Because of the continued rebellion and defilement of the sukkahs of Yahuah, He had to continuously renew and extend His covenant to be the Elohiym of the whole earth without destroying it for the very thing He created it for, to dwell in and among the part of creation He created in His own image.
As the feast continues we will look at how Yahuah plans to make a nation of sukkahs through the descendants of Avraham.
I pray that this Feast of Sukkoth is finding you fellowshipping with Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach on a deeper level and trying to tabernacle with them in your sukkah.
Shalom,
Minister Morrow
