Main Themes & Commandments
The Call to Come Out (Lekh-Lekha)
Yahuah calls Avram out from among his land, his peope, and his father’s house, establishing the pattern that all who would enter covenant must separate themselves from the world through obedience to His Word.
Bere’shiyth 12:1 – “Now Yahuah had said unto Avram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee.”
Yesha’yahu 41:9 – “Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art My servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 7:2-3 – “And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The Elohiym of glory appeared unto our father Avraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charan, And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.”
Romaiym 4:3 – “For what saith the scripture? Avraham believed Elohiym, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”
**Avram was called out by the Word of Yahuah, and his obedience began the covenant walk. This Word that speaks, leads, and establishes direction is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. In the same way, all who are called into covenant must hear and obey the voice of the Son. Are you willing to come out from the world when Yahuah calls, or are you holding on to what He has commanded you to leave behind?
Righteousness Through Belief and Obedience
Yahuah establishes that righteousness is not attained through works alone, but through belief that produces obedience to His Word and His covenant.
Bere’shiyth 15:6 – “And he believed in Yahuah; and He counted it to him for righteousness.”
Romaiym 4:20-22 – “He staggered not at the promise of Elohiym through unbelief; but was strong in belief, giving glory to Elohiym; And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
Galatiym 3:6-7 – “Even as Avraham believed Elohiym, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of belief, the same are the children of Avraham.”
**Belief is not separate from obedience — true belief produces action. The Brit Ha’dasha reveals that righteousness is imputed through belief in the promised Seed, which is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. Therefore, righteousness is revealed through obedient belief in the Son. Are you claiming belief while resisting obedience, or is your life bearing fruit that proves your faith is alive?
The Covenant Established by the Two Yahuah’s
Yahuah reveals His covenant with Avraham through a manifestation that shows both the invisible Father and the visible Yahuah who confirms and executes the covenant.
Bere’shiyth 15:17 – “And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.”
Bere’shiyth 17:1 – “And when Avram was ninety years old and nine, Yahuah appeared to Avram, and said unto him, I am El Shaddai; walk before Me, and be thou perfect.”
Galatiym 3:16-17 – “Now to Avraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Mashiach. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of Elohiym in Mashiach, the Torah, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.”
**The covenant with Avraham reveals the Two Yahuah’s: the Father who ordains and the Son who confirms and fulfills it. The Brit Ha’dasha declares that the covenant was established in Mashiach, showing that Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the mediator and fulfillment of all covenant promises. Are you walking in covenant through the Son, or are you trying to approach the Father apart from Him?
The Angel of Yahuah – The Visible Elohiym
Yahuah reveals Himself to Hagar through the Angel of Yahuah, showing that this Messenger is not separate, but speaks with the full authority and identity of Elohiym.
Bere’shiyth 16:10 & 13 – “And the Angel of Yahuah said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. & 13. ”And she called the name of Yahuah that spake unto her, Thou El Ro’i: for she said, Have I also here looked after Him that seeth me?”
Ma’asiym (Acts) 7:6-7 – “And Elohiym spake on this wise: That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years. And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said Elohiym: and after that shall they come forth, and serve Me in this place.”
**The Angel of Yahuah speaks as Elohiym, carries His authority, and reveals His presence. The Brit Ha’dasha continues to affirm that it is Elohiym Himself who speaks and acts among His people, confirming that this Messenger is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, the visible manifestation of Yahuah.
The Priesthood of Malkiy-Tsedeq – King and Priest Forever
Yahuah introduces a priesthood through Malkiy-Tsedeq that is eternal and not based on earthly lineage, pointing to the everlasting authority of His Son.
Bere’shiyth 14:18 – “And Maliy-Tsedeq (Melchizedek) king of Shalem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of El Elyon.”
Ivriym 7:1-3 – “For this Malkiy-Tsedeq, king of Shalem, priest of El Elyon, who met Avraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Avraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Shalem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of Elohiym; abideth a priest continually.”
**The Brit Ha’dasha reveals that Malkiy-Tsedeq is a direct representation of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach—King and eternal High Priest. This priesthood is greater than Levi and establishes a better covenant. Are you submitted to this eternal priesthood, or are you relying on earthly systems that cannot save?
The Everlasting Covenant and the Circumcision of the Heart
Yahuah establishes an everlasting covenant with Avraham and gives a physical sign that points to a deeper spiritual transformation required of His people.
Bere’shiyth 17:10-11 – “This is My covenant, which ye shall guard, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise אֶת the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.”
Romaiym 4:11 – “And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:“
Galatiym 3:29 –– ““And if ye be Mashiach’s, then are ye Avraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”“
Ivriym 7:18-19 – “For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the Torah made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto Elohiym. ”
**The covenant sign points to a deeper truth fulfilled in Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. The Brit Ha’dasha reveals that those who belong to Mashiach are the true seed of Avraham and heirs of the promise. This covenant is not outward only, but inward, transforming the heart. Are you walking in the true covenant through Mashiach Yahusha, or only holding to the outward sign without inward change?

Yahusha Ha’Mashiach in the Torah Portion
Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is revealed throughout Parashat Lekh-Lekha as the visible manifestation of Yahuah, the Word who speaks, the Messenger who appears, and the One through whom the covenant is established and fulfilled.
- Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the Word of Yahuah who calls and leads. He is the One who calls His people out of the world and leads them into covenant.
- He is the manifest Yahuah who makes covenant. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the One who stood in the covenant, sealing it by Himself as both the giver and the fulfillment.
- He is Malkiy-Tsedeq – King and Eternal High Priest. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the eternal King-Priest, greater than Avraham, establishing a priesthood that brings us near unto Yahuah.
- He is the Angel of Yahuah who Speaks as Elohiym. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the Angel of Yahuah—the visible Messenger who reveals the Father, speaks with His authority, and sees all.
- He is the Seed of Avraham. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the promised Seed through whom all nations are blessed and through whom the covenant is fulfilled.
- He Reveals the Two Yahuah’s – Father and Son. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the visible Yahuah who reveals the invisible Father. The Two are distinct yet one in purpose, working together to establish and fulfill the covenant with mankind.
- He Establishes the Everlasting Covenant. Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is the One who establishes the true covenant—not only in the flesh, but in the heart—bringing His people into a renewed and everlasting relationship with Yahuah.
Yahusha Ha’Mashiach is present in every major event of this portion:
- The Word who calls Avraham out
- The One who makes and confirms the covenant
- The King-Priest Malkiy-Tsedeq
- The Angel of Yahuah who speaks as Elohiym
- The Promised Seed of Avraham
- The Visible Yahuah revealing the Father
This portion testifies that from the beginning, it is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach who reveals Yahuah, establishes covenant, and brings salvation to mankind. The question is: are you following the same voice that Avraham obeyed?
Reflection & Self-Study Questions
- Have you truly responded to the call of Yahuah to come out from the world, as Avraham did, or are you still holding on to your former life?
- Are you listening to and obeying the Word of Yahuah (Yahusha Ha’Mashiach), or are you choosing your own direction?
- Do you believe the promises of Yahuah even when they seem impossible, as Avraham did, or do you struggle with doubt and unbelief?
- Is your belief producing obedience and action, or is it only words without fruit?
- Do you recognize Yahusha Ha’Mashiach as the Word of Yahuah who speaks and leads, or are you separating the Son from the Father who came for another reason other than to do the will of His Father?
- Are you walking in the covenant established by the Two Yahuah’s, or are you trying to approach the Father apart from His Son?
- Are you submitted to Yahusha as King and High Priest after the order of Malkiy-Tsedeq, or are you relying on earthly systems of religion and traditions of men?
- Are you living as a stranger and sojourner in the earth like Avraham, seeking the promises of Yahuah, or are you rooted in the systems of this world?
- Has your heart been truly circumcised, or are you only carrying outward signs without inward transformation?
- Do you believe that circumcision of the flesh is no longer required as a sign of the eternal covenant?
