Main Themes & Commandments

And Yahuah Appeared (Vayera Yahuah)

Yahuah continues to visit with Avraham and tells him of His plans because he walks in the Way of Yahuah.
Bere’shiyth 18:1 – “And Yahuah appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;”
Bere’shiyth 18:17 – “And Yahuah said, Shall I hide from Avraham that thing which I do;”
Yochanon (John) 15:15“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his master doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you.”
**Yahuah reveals Himself through Yahusha Ha’Mashiach to those who walk before Him in obedience. He makes known His plans to His servants, showing that a relationship with Him is built upon walking in His Way and obedience to His Word.

Hospitality, Righteousness, and Intercession for Others

Avraham walks in righteousness through serving Yahuah and intercedes for the righteous, showing how the heart of those who follow Yahuah is supposed to be.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 18:3-4 – “And said, My Adonai, if now I have found favour in Thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from Thy servant: Let a little water, I pray You, be fetched, and wash Your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 18:23 – “And Avraham drew near, and said, Wilt Thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?”
Shofetiym (Judges) 13:15 – “And Manoach said unto the Angel of Yahuah, I pray Thee, let us detain Thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for Thee.
**The righteous walk in obedience, showing hospitality and interceding for others. Yahuah hears the prayers of those who are obedient to Him, and He will not destroy the righteous with the wicked.

Judgment upon Wickedness and Deliverance of the Righteous

Yahuah calls to Yahuah in heaven to bring judgment upon Sedom and Amorah while delivering Lot, showing that He is just and faithful to preserve the righteous.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 19:24 – “Then Yahuah rained upon Sedom and upon Amorah brimstone and fire from Yahuah out of heaven;”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 19:16 – “And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; Yahuah being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.”

Promise Fulfilled: Yahuah Brings Life from the Impossible

Yahuah fulfills His promise to Sarah, showing that nothing is too hard for Him.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 21:1-2“And Yahuah visited אֶת Sarah as He had said, and Yahuah did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Avraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which Elohiym had spoken to him.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 18:14 – “Is any thing too hard for Yahuah? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 11:11 – “Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”
**Yahuah is faithful to His Word and through His Word. The commandment is to believe Him fully, even when circumstances appear impossible, for He brings life where there is none.

Faith Proven through Obedience: The Testing of Avraham

Avraham is tested and proves his faith by not withholding his son, trusting that Yahuah will provide.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 22:2 “And He said, Take now אֶת thy son, אֶת thine only son אֶת Yitschaq, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriyah; and offer him there for an ascending smoke offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 22:12 – “And He said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest Elohiym, seeing thou hast not withheld אֶת thy son, אֶת thine only son from Me.”
Ivriym (Hebrews) 11:17-19 – “By faith Avraham, when he was tried, offered up Yitschaq: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Yitschaq shall thy seed be called: Accounting that Elohiym was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”
**True faith is proven through obedience. The commandment is to trust Yahuah completely, even when tested, knowing that He is able to fulfill His promise beyond what we can see.

Yahuah Always Provides the Offering and Secures the Covenant

Yahuah provides a ram in place of Yitschaq, revealing that He Himself provides the sacrifice.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 22:8 – “And Avraham said, My son, Elohiym will provide himself a lamb for an ascending smoke offering: so they went both of them together.”
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 22:14 – “And Avraham called the name of that place Yahuah Yireh (Jehovah Jireh): as it is said to this day, In the Mount of Yahuah it shall be seen.”
Yochanon (John) 1:29 – “The next day Yochanon seeth Yahusha coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of Elohiym, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Chazon (Revelation) 13:8 – “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
**Yahuah is the true provider of every offering. The commandment is to trust in His provision, for He alone secures the covenant and provides the means of salvation through Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.

  3. When you see wickedness around you, do you intercede like Avraham for the righteous, or do you remain silent and indifferent?

  6. Do you believe that nothing is too hard for Yahuah, even when His promises seem impossible in your current circumstances?
  7. Are you allowing anything in your life to remain that represents bondage, or are you casting out what Yahuah has shown you does not belong with His covenant?
  8. When Yahuah tests you, do you respond with immediate obedience like Avraham, or do you hesitate, question, or resist His command?
  9. Are you holding back anything from Yahuah, or have you fully surrendered everything to Him, including what is most precious to you?
  10. Are you living as a sojourner in this world, seeking the promises of Yahuah, or are you becoming comfortable in a place that is under judgment?
