Main Themes & Commandments
Creation by Elohiym through the Commandment of His Word
Elohiym created the heaven and the earth by the Truth in the commandment of His Word.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 1:3 – “And Elohiym said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Yochanon (John) 1:1-3 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohiym, and the Word was Elohiym. The Same was in the beginning with Elohiym. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 8:26-30 – “While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there: when He set a compass upon the face of the depth: When He established the clouds above: when He strengthened the fountains of the deep: When He gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment: when He appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him: and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him;”
**Elohiym created everything in the creation by the power of His Word Who is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, Who was also with Father Yahuah before the creation as the embodiment of Wisdom and Truth.
First Commandment Given
Elohiym blesses mankind and gives them the first commandment He expects us to guard.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 1:28 – “And Elohiym blessed them, and Elohiym said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
Yochanon (John) 15:1-2 – “I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Husbandman. Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Mishlei (Proverbs) 8:18 – “Riches and honour are with Me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and My revenue than choice silver.”
**The first commandment given was to be fruitful for Father Yahuah through obedience to all of His commandments through the True Vine, Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. This commandment is the link to all of the other commandments and why it was given first.
Mashiach Yahusha is the True Vine of Yahuah through which all good fruit is produced.
We are either going to produce good fruit for Father Yahuah or we are going to produce bad fruit for the enemy.
Sin & Death Enter the World through Disobedience
A’dam and Chuah chose to transgress the first commandment by being fruitful for the enemy instead of being fruitful for Father Yahuah through their disobedience.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 3:1&6 – “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which Yahuah Elohiym had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath Elohiym said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
Yochanon (John) 15:5-6 – “I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”
Romaiym (Romans) 5:12-14 – “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the Torah sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no Torah. Nevertheless death reigned from A’dam to Mosheh, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of Him that was to come.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 8:36 – “But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death.”
**Through disobedience, sin and death came into the world of mankind. To love Yahuah is to obey all of His commandments, not just the ones that are convenient for us. To actively chose to continue in sin without trying to turn away from it is the path to death and destruction.
Defeat of the Enemy, Salvation from Death and Restoration Promised
Elohiym curses the enemy, promises that He will defeat him and restore the creation back to it’s original state before the fall of mankind. Death will no longer be the eternal curse for those who follow and believe on Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 3:15 – “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 65:17 – ” For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
Yochanon (John) 14:12-13 – “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of Elohiym, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohiym.”
Ivriym (Hebrew) 5:8-10 – “Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; Called of Elohiym an High Priest after the order of Malkiy-Tsedeq.”
Mishlei (Proverbs) 8:35 – “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohiym.”
**Through obedience to all of the commandments of Father Yahuah, which is to believe on His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, we once again have a right to the tree of life that was taken away from us when A’dam and Chuah were evicted from the Garden of Eden.

The Hebrew word בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית (Bere’shiyth) “In the beginning” is the title of the first portion of Yahuah’s new year and is from the root רֵאשִׁית (re’shiyth) which is from the same as SHW 7218 (רוֹאשׁ – head) and means beginning, chiefest, firstfruits, part, time, principal thing. Since it is from the same as ro’sh; the first, in place, time, order or rank (specifically, a firstfruit) — beginning, chief(-est), first(-fruits, part, time), principal thing.
**Mashiach Yahusha was before the beginning, is the creator of all thing, is the head of all things and everything was made for His glory because He, and only He, is the Hero of the story of the entire collection of the Hebrew Scriptures and the Brit Ha’Dasha.
eth (’êṯ) אֶת — “Not typically translated; used as a direct object marker” — Strong’s Hebrew Word 853 [e]
The Hebrew word אֶת (eth) “Stand” is typically not translated and as such unrepresented in English.
Apparent contracted from SHW 226 (אוֹת-‘owth) [ SHW 226 means a mark, miracle, ensign. Probably from SHW 225 ‘uwth (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc. — mark, miracle, (en-)sign, token.] in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely) — (as such unrepresented in English).
**It is constructed from the א (aleph which is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet) and the ת (tav which is the last letter in the Hebrew alphabet) and is what many, myself included, consider to be the mark or signature of Yahuah Elohiym the Son, also known as Yahusha Ha’Mashiach who is the beginning and the end, the creator of all things.
Chazon (Revelation) 21:6-7 – “And He said unto me, It is done. I am אֶ (Aleph) and ת (Tav), the beginning and the end, I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his Elohiym, and he shall be My son.”
Pe’ru (pə·rū) פְּר֣וּ — “Be fruitful” — Strong’s Hebrew Word 6509 [e]
The Hebrew word פְּר֣וּ (Pe’ru) “Be fruitful” is the first commandment that Elohiym gave mankind. It means is to bear, bring forth fruit, be, cause to be, make fruitful, grow, increase and is from the primitive root פָרָה (parah) which also means to bear fruit (literally or figuratively) — bear, bring forth (fruit), (be, cause to be, make) fruitful, grow, increase. It is translated as bear fruit (2), bearing…fruit (1), become fruitful (1), flourishes (1), fruitful (18), fruitful tree (1), increased (1), made me fruitful (1), make him fruitful (1), make you fruitful (3).
**פְּר֣וּ – Pe’ru (be fruitful SHW 6509) comes before מִפְּרִ֥י – Mipperiy (the fruit SHW 6529) letting us know that the commandment to be fruitful predicates that it is the type of fruit we are fruitful in bearing that matters and not the physical fruit most get caught up on when studying this first commandment.
Mipperiy (mip·pə·rî) מִפְּרִ֥י — “The fruit” — Strong’s Hebrew Word 6529 [e]
The Hebrew word מִפְּרִ֥י (Mipperiy) “The fruit” is from the Hebrew word פְרִי (peri) which means bough, firsfruit, reward and is from SHW 6509 פְּר֣וּ fruitful; fruit (literally or figuratively) — bough, ((first-)) fruit((-ful)), reward. It is translated as earnings* (1), foliage (1), fruit (84), fruitful (2), fruits (2), fruits* (1), offspring (11), price (1), produce (12), product (1), results (2), reward (1).
**We are called to bear good fruit for Father Yahuah by obedience to His commandments and if we do not bear good fruit then His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach will turn us away:
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 7:19-23 – “Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto Me, Adonai, Adonai, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Adonai, Adonai, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.”
Yahusha Ha’Mashiach in the Torah Portion
- Yahusha Ha’Mashiach was with Elohiym in the beginning, was Elohiym and created all things.
- The אֶת (Aleph Tav) is the signature of Mashiach Yahusha throughout the scriptures as the mark or ensign of the miracles, actions and the effects of Elohiym.
- He was/is the True Light of the world that was from the creation and through eternity.
- The seventh day rest (Shabbath) was created by Him for mankind making Him Master of the Shabbath and the Ture Shabbath of Rest for mankind.
- Mashiach Yahusha is the Tree of Life that is in the Garden of Eden eternally.
- He was Yahuah Elohiym Who walked in the garden in the cool of the day.
- He is The Way to The Tree of Life and is in fact The Way, The Truth and The Life and no one can go to Father Yahuah except they go through Him.
Reflection & Self-Study Questions
- Why does the enemy attack the creation account given in Bere’shiyth so hard in today’s society with manmade science (a religion in itself) and doctrines of demons (heliocentrism which is actually heliolatry), that the “church” seems almost hell bent on incorporating into it’s understanding of Yahuah Elohaynu Tseva’oth?
- Do you believe that the creation account in Bere’shiyth is a literal account, a figurative account or both?
- Have you ever studied the אֶת (Aleph Tav) or even ever heard of it?
- What are your thoughts on the אֶת (Aleph Tav)?
- What does it mean to you that you are created in the image of Elohiym?
