The Ancient Roman
Demonic Celebration of Fertility
6th-day, Month 11, 24th
Friday February 13th, 2026
Shalom to my brothers, sisters and family in the faith of Father Yahuah who make up the body of believers in His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. I hope this short blog finds you and your families in the strength, health and blessings of Father Yahuah walking in His set-apart way with Mashiach Yahusha.
The world is getting ready to celebrate it’s day of love and lust known as Valentines day, but is this celebration the innocent holiday that most think it is, or does it carry a deeper meaning, a soul entanglement, that most just glance over in the name of “love”?
What is Valentines Day and Where Did It Come From
The holiday we call Valentines Day that most “churches” celebrate is believed to have been started by a man named Valentine with the stories varying widely on how this man became a saint, not a qodeshiym, but it is believed that he lived in the ancient Roman empire and was martyred for his love/passion for some cause or person but the dates of February 13th thru the 15th were dates associated with celebrating the fertility god Lupercus and offering sacrifices to him. The ancient Romans held the festival of Lupercalia on these dates as far back as 600 BC and according to The World Book Encyclopedia Volume U-V ©1984 “During this celebration, young men struck people with strips of animal hide. Women took the blows because they thought the whipping made them more fertile.” The strips of of meat were taken from goats and dogs that were sacrificed to the god Lupercus to protect form wolves and grant fertility.
Shemoth (Exodus) 22:20 –“He that sacrificeth unto any elohiym (god), save unto Yahuah only, he shall be utterly destroyed.”
The scriptures are very clear on this in multiple places…
Even if people think they are not celebrating the holiday for the original intent of it, they are partaking in a ritual that ultimately that celebrates something Yahuah abhors and He is the one we should be showing our love to by being obedient to His commands:
1st Yochanon (John) 5:3 –“For this is the love of Elohiym, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous“
Conclusion
We have been called-out to be a set-apart peculiar people to Yahuah and to not walk after the ways of the world.
You don’t have to have a special day, dictated by the fallen world of demon worshippers, to show your spouse or those you care for that you love them. Show them everyday, multiple times and ways each day, that you love them and not just on this one day of a pagan sacrificially day to the god of fertility. Show those you care for the love that Yahuah has placed in your heart for them and not the lust and pride the world wants you to show.
I hope this short blog helps you in your understanding of why celebrating this demonic holiday of worldly love and lust is not be in alignment with Yahuah’s covenant He made with His chosen people.
I pray that you have a blessed 6th day and are looking forward to Yahuah’s Shabbath Feast Day of Rest tomorrow!!
Have a blessed and restful day of fellowship tomorrow with Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach who is the True Shabbath of Yahuah
Shalom,
Sharath Patrick
