What are Pagan Holidays?
6th Day, Month 6, 12th

Greetings in the name of Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach! I hope this quick post finds you in the grace and peace of Father Yahuah!
Growing up in a “Christian” family, I was exposed to all the familiar holidays that are celebrated in today’s society. My father, whom I considered at the time and still do, a very religious man with a personal relationship with Mashiach Yahusha, taught Sunday School, chaired the deacon board, and was the most “God” fearing man that I have ever known and we celebrated every holiday that was on the calendar unless it was just plain ridiculous. We celebrated new years day on January 1st, new years eve on December 31st and every holiday in between. We used to raise money for the church and community by having a haunted forest and other fund raisers on different pagan holidays and it never crossed my mind that maybe we were doing something against the commandments of Father Yahuah….
Ignorance is bliss and celebrating those holidays were times that I truly enjoyed and will cherish for the rest of my life. It wasn’t celebrating the holidays I will cherish, it was fellowshipping and being with family and friends that I loved, the holiday aspect was always secondary. As my relationship with “God and Jesus Christ” grew and deepened, I started to question “holidays” especially “Christmas and Halloween” and the question of “If God never changes, then why did He change His Sabbath to Sunday” started to echo more and more inside of my head.
Now that I’ve provided a little background, let’s get into these “holidays” and find out why I call all of them pagan days of worship. The word pagan is not found in the KJV and the closest word to pagan that I can find is heathen. Before we get to that, let’s define pagan from the world’s definition. Webster’s New World College Dictionary Third Edition defines pagan as a heathen or a non-Christian and merriam-webster.com says that heathen and pagan are semantically similar and that now paganism is a recognized religion. So now that we’ve gotten that, what do the scriptures define a heathen as?
Heathen is SHW 1471 which simply means the other nations of the world besides Yashar’el, the Gentiles. So pagans are gentiles which are simply the other nations of the world that Yahuah has not chosen to be His peculiar people treasure and His set-apart nation of royal priest like He did with Yashar’el. To break it all the way down, things are either of Yahuah and for His set-apart people of Yashar’el or they are pagan, heathen and of the world.
Now that we know that pagan is anything that does not have to do with Yahuah or His plans for His chosen set-apart people, we can conclude that all holidays are pagan. Is it really that simple? It certainly seems like it is to me and the scriptures repeatedly warn Yashar’el to not practice or learn the ways of the other nations to celebrate things and to worship Yahuah because all of these things are an abomination to Him.
As we continue through the year, I will post about the pagan holidays as they approach to give an overview of what see they are from what Father Yahuah has been revealed to me as to why these days are planned by the enemy to be in direct rebellion against Father Yahuah and His plans for His chosen people. If you are new to not participating in pagan holidays, it will be a difficult time for you, but remember that you have been called out to be set-apart from the rest of the world. I pray that you find peace and consolation in knowing that you are walking in the way that Mashiach Yahusha walked and that one day soon, you will be celebrating the Feast of Yahuah with all of your brothers and sisters in the faith in the presence of Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.
I pray this helps your walk with Father Yahuah in the way!
Shalom,
Minister Pat
