Praying for the Removal of a Reprobate Mind
Greetings to my family in the faith, who love Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach!
I pray that your week has been good and that you are ready for Yahuah’s feast day of the Shabbath tomorrow. I am looking forward to Shabbath as I need the recharging, rest and fellowship with Ruach Yahuah after the beginning of the ruchani (רוחני – spiritual) battle of the pagan celebration season we have entered into.
Introduction
In our sojourn here we have to battle to overcome many things due to our sin, the sins of our fathers and the battle that is going on within each and every one of us to resist evil and the ruachoth that have chosen to rebel against Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. As we saw in last weeks blog the main way we can battle evil ruachoth is to obey Yahuah and do the good part of His will by walking in His way and guarding covenant with Him.
If we continuously disobey Yahuah then He will send evil ruachoth to torment us and He will give us over to a reprobate mind:
1st Shemu’el (Samuel) 16:14-15: – “But the Ruach of Yahuah departed from Sha’ul, and an evil ruach from Yahuah troubled him. And Sha’ul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an ruach from Elohiym troubleth thee.”
** Because of Sha’ul’s disobedience, Yahuah removed His Ruach and sent another ruach, an evil one, to torment Sha’ul. There are other verses found in 1st Shemu’el 18:10 and 19:9 where Yahuah continues to send the evil ruachoth to torment Sha’ul for his wickedness and forsaking the way Yahuah.
We see in Shofetiym where Elohiym sent an evil ruach to Aviymelech and the men of Shechem because of the evil they had done:
Shofetiym (Judges) 9:23-24 – “Then Elohiym sent an evil ruach between Aviymelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Aviymelech: That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Yerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Aviymelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.”
**The evil that we do will be returned to us if we do not turn from it, and our wicked ways and it will be just as Yahuah did to Ach’av:
1st Melekiym (Kings) 22:20-22 – “And Yahuah said, Who shall persuade Ach’av, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-Gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a ruach, and stood before Yahuah, and said, I will persuade him. And Yahuah said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying ruach in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.”
** From the above references in the Tanakh we can see that Yahuah indeed sends forth evil ruachoth to punish those who continually disobey Him.
In the Brit Ha’Dasha we have a couple of examples of Yahuah giving people over to lying and evil ways which is basically the same thing He did in the Tanakh, send evil and lying ruachoth to allow people to do what is in their hearts:
2nd Tasloniqiym (Thessalonians) 2:10-12 – “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause Elohiym shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
**The people who choose to not walk in truth and ruach are sent a strong delusion (lying ruach) so they can continue in their evil and wicked ways.
The verse that lays it all out for what we are studying in this blog is:
Romayim (Romans) 1:28 – “And even as they did not like to retain Elohiym in their knowledge, Elohiym gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”
**Through continued disobedience Yahuah will give you over to a reprobate mind!
From the scriptures we have looked at, you may think that there is no way that someone can have a reprobate mind corrected, and this is a common belief among believers, but is it true? One thing you have to remember is that we are not dealing with man but we are dealing with Yahuah Rophe’ka, and He can heal anything!
Amein!
In order for us to get an understanding on this concept that Yahuah can heal the reprobate mind, let’s get the definition of what reprobate actually is.
Reprobate is only used one time in the KJV translation of the Tanakh and it is found in:
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 6:30 –“Reprobate silver shall men call them, because Yahuah hath rejected them.”
Reprobate here is נִמְאָ֔ס (nimas) and it is used twice in the the Tanakh. The other occurrence is found in Tehilliym 15:4 where it is translated in the KJV as “a vile person” but in the NAS it is “a reprobate” and this word is SHW 3988 מָאַס (ma’as) which simply means to reject, despise, refuse and to abhor.
Now that we have the simple definition in Hebrew, we can look at the first time the word is used and it is in:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 26:15 –“And if ye shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor My judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:”
**We can see that if we despise (are reprobate to) Yahuah’s statutes then He will despise us and send evil against us just as we are doing evil against Him, but the key to undoing this is to not despise Yahuah’s commandments and is found a few verses later:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 26:40-42 –“If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against Me, and that also they have walked contrary unto Me; And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Then will I remember My covenant with Ya’aqov, and also My covenant with Yitschaq, and also My covenant with Avraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.”
**From the Hebrew definition of reprobate which is to have a ruach that despises and rejects the commandments of Yahuah we also have a way to get healed from this condition which is to confess our sins in prayer to Yahuah.
Reprobate is used more extensively in the Brit Ha’Dasha and is translated from the Greek word ἀδόκιμον which is SGW 96 which means reprobate, castaway and rejected. Adokimos (ἀδόκιμον) signifies not standing the test, rejected. Of persons it means reprobate in mind and reprobate concerning the faith. So we can see that being reprobate means rejecting to do the commandments and good will of Yahuah and He has turned contrary to us giving us over to the lust of our hearts and minds. We see once again that if we confess our sins we can
1st Yochanon (John) 1:7-10 – “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach His Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”
**As we can see from the definitions above that even if someone has been given over to a reprobate mind there is a way to reverse it as long as we are living and have the desire to change.
Praying for the Removal of a Reprobate Mind
Praying for the removal a reprobate mind is a very difficult thing to do and the reason for that is because we have the natural ability to justify our own sins and condemn those of others. We must always remember that we are all fallen creatures who sin on a daily basis and we are always in danger of falling into a reprobate mind. Therefore it is my belief that we should pray that we do not fall into a reprobate mind everyday. With that being said, we should also pray periodically for Yahuah to remove the reprobate minds that we are accumulating.
A Prayer for the Removal of Our Reprobate Mind
The following is an outline of a prayer for the removal of a reprobate mind:
Dear Heavenly Father Yahuah, my Master, my King, my Everything, my Elohiym.
The Elohiym of Avraham, the Elohiym of Yitschaq, the Elohiym of Ya’aqov, the Elohiym of the children of Yashar’el whom I have chosen to join myself to and try my best to guard covenant with You Father Yahuah, obey Your commandments and walk in the way with Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.
I come Father Yahuah first of all to say thank You for guiding me to pray this prayer and seek to remove the rejection of Your commandments from my life.
It is the sincere desire of my soul to walk in agreement with Your Word and to not transgress your Torah.
I confess my sin(s) of _______________ and I ask Father Yahuah that you get me to a place of not doing them anymore so that I can ask for true forgiveness and fully repent of my sin against You.
Father Yahuah if there are things that I am doing to transgress Your commandments that I am unaware of, I ask that You please reveal them to me so that I can acknowledge them to myself, confess them to You through Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach so that I can then ask You for Your forgiveness.
Father Yahuah I acknowledge my weakness and that I can do nothing without You and that is why I am coming to You right now to make me see my sins and correct me, because I cannot do it on my own.
In the mighty name of Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach I count this done and I anticipate You showing me the error of my ways so that You can heal me from the disease of the sins that I have.
In the name of Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach I pray this prayer, I bless, praise, worship and exalt Your beautiful set-apart and righteous name.
And in the mighty name of Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach I love You Father Yahuah with all of my heart, I love You Father Yahuah with all of my soul and in the mighty name of Your Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach I love You Father Yahuah with all of my might and with all of my strength I love You Father Yahuah! I love You Father Yahuah!
Amein, Amein.
Conclusion:
In the world we live, we need to pray continuously to Yahuah so that we can ensure we are being led by His Ruach to do the things that are pleasing in His sight and in conformance with His will for our lives and not our will.
Next week we will look at generational curses, what they are and how to pray for them to be removed from us so they don’t affect us and our servanthood to Father Yahuah.
Have a blessed Shabbath tomorrow and blow up the shofar!!
May Yahuah continue to bless you and your families to walk in His grace, peace and mercy.
Shalom,
Minister Morrow
