Yahuah’s Nation of Sukkahs
Yahuah extends the covenant directly to Ya’aqov and his descendants to be their Elohiym:
Bere’shiyth (Genesis) 28:13-15 – “ And, behold, Yahuah stood above it, and said, I am Yahuah Elohai of Avraham thy father, and the Elohiym of Yitschaq: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will guard thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.”
After the death of Ya’aqov and his sons, Yahuah hears the groans of oppression from the children of Yashar’el and remembers His covenant with Avraham, Yitschaq and Ya’aqov:
Shemoth (Exodus) 2:23-25 – “And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Mitsrayim died: and the children of Yashar’el sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto Elohiym by reason of the bondage. And Elohiym heard their groaning, and Elohiym remembered His covenant with Avraham, with Yitschaq, and with Ya’aqov. And Elohiym looked upon the children of Yashar’el, and Elohiym had respect unto them.”
Yahuah brings the children of Yashar’el out of the sukkah of bondage in Mitsrayim and He begins cutting the covenant with them to be His nation of set-apart sukkahs by not letting other elohiym have control over them:
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-6 – “ Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and guard My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a set-apart nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Yashar’el.”
Shemoth (Exodus) 20:2-6 – “ I am Yahuah Elohayka, which have brought thee out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other elohiym before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yahuah Elohayka am a jealous El, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And ishewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and guard My commandments.”
The children of Yashar’el agree to guard covenant with Yahuah and become His nation of set-apart sukkahs:
Shemoth (Exodus) 24:7-8 – “And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Yahuah hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Mosheh took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahuah hath made with you concerning all these words.”
Yahuah commands that a sanctuary be built for Yashar’el to sacrifice offerings to Him:
Shemoth (Exodus) 25:2-9 – “Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, that they bring Me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take My offering. And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, and rams’ skins dyed red, and antelope skins, and shittiym wood, Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. And let them make Me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.”
The First Sukkah Made with Hands
The children of Yashar’el choose disobedience shortly after cutting the covenant with Yahuah, they corrupt the nation of set-apart sukkahs and Yahuah wants to destroy them:
Shemoth (Exodus) 32:5-10 – “And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Mitsrayim, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy elohiym, O Yashar’el, which have brought thee up out of the land of Mitsrayim. And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: Now therefore let Me alone, that My wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.”
Because of Yashar’el’s defilement and shame, Yahuah removes them from being His set-apart nation of priest and sukkahs, transferring the priesthood to the sons of Leviy:
Shemoth (Exodus) 32:25-29 – “And when Mosheh saw that the people were naked; (for Aharon had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) Then Mosheh stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on Yahuah’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Leviy gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. And the children of Leviy did according to the word of Mosheh: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to Yahuah, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.“
Bemidbar (Numbers) 3:12-13 – “And I, behold, I have taken the Leviyiym from among the children of Yashar’el instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Yashar’el: therefore the Leviyiym shall be Mine; Because all the firstborn are Mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim I hallowed unto Me all the firstborn in Yashar’el, both man and beast: Mine shall they be: I am Yahuah Lord.“
The tabernacle and priests are consecrated and anointed so Yahuah can have a sukkah to lead and dwell among His people:
Shemoth (Exodus) 40:9-13 – “And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be set-apart. And thou shalt anoint the altar of the ascending smoke offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most set-apart. And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it. And thou shalt bring Aharon and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the assembly, and wash them with water. And thou shalt put upon Aharon the set-apart garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto Me in the priest’s office.”
Yahuah inhabits the sukkah made for Him by human hands:
Shemoth (Exodus) 40:34-37 – “Then a cloud covered the tent of the assembly, and the glory of Yahuah filled the tabernacle. And Mosheh was not able to enter into the tent of the assembly, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of Yahuah the tabernacle. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Yashar’el went onward in all their journeys: But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of Yahuah was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.”
Summary of Yahuah’s Nation of Sukkahs and
The First Sukkah Made with Hands
Yahuah remembered His covenant He made with Avraham, Yitschaq, Ya’aqov and the children of Yashar’el to be their Elohiym. He hears their cry because of the oppression they are under and brings them out of Mitsrayim to be His nation of set-apart priest and sukkahs. Yahuah then offers His covenant to Yashar’el, they accept it and the covenant is cut between Yahuah and the children of Yashar’el. Not long after the covenant is cut, Yashar’el chooses to disobey and worship other elohiym causing Yahuah’s wrath to wax hot against them and He seeks to destroy them but Mosheh reminds Him of His covenant with Avraham, Yitschaq, and Ya’aqov. Because He is an Elohiym that never changes, He honours His promise and spares the children of Yashar’el but He strips the nation of the priesthood and can no longer dwell in them as sukkahs because of their defilement.
Because the children of Yashar’el defiled the whole assembly, Yahuah had to have a set-apart sukkah to dwell in when He was among Yashar’el so that they wouldn’t die in their uncleanness and only the priest could do any kind of service to the tabernacle of the assembly. With the anointing of the tabernacle, Yahuah had a temporary place to dwell among His people.
I pray that you are continuing to have a joyous Feast of Sukkoth and that you are tabernacling with Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.
Have a blessed Shabbath of rest and fellowship today!!
Shalom,
Minister Morrow
